“Oh, no, no! The map is perfect thank you!” she cheered holding the map closer to her then need be.
But then kitten changed.
Emily’s jaw opened, her eyes widened to the size of plates. Once more she resumed her fish impression as she hugged the map closer to her. Oh dear god, she could only wonder what she had gotten herself into by getting hired at this place. “…woah.” Was all she could murmur out when she finally got over the shock. She mentally winced when it came out as if she was high.

Kitten couldn't help but hold back the laughter from Emily's reaction, but this only made her snort and that sent her into a fit of giggles. "You've never seen a changling before, have you then?" the woman asked, looking back over to the woman.
the researcher couldn't help it. Hair like waves of gold grew quickly out of the short gray locks and her eyes become a violet purple. Of course Kitten could change just about anything else on her body, but changing her hair and eyes was the easiest hting to do and it was a great deal quicker.

Emily had opened her mouth to respond, but again the girl changed. A whimper came from her mouth as a response and she could only shake her head no.
Finally though, she broke out of her stupor, and she rushed to Kitten, her eyes still wide but this time twinkling with delight. “Wow! That’s so cool! Do it again!” She cheered, walking around Kitten in a circle trying to take in the new change. “Oh man! I wanna do that!”

Emily's reaction pleased the woman, for Kitten didn't want the woman to be scared of her anymore. "Give me a moment and I'll do more than change my hair colour," the woman replied with quite the mischevious grin.
It's an odd thing, watching a 5 foot something woman suddenly begin to shrink, but shrink Kitten did. Now standing at three feet with brilliant orange hair cut straight against her shoulders and prim bangs falling just above green eyes. Her cheeks and nose were smattered in freckles and her body had, well, filled out.
"E'r met a dorf?" the woman asked in a faked but not terrible dwarven accent.

“mmkay!” Emily cheered and watched with childish glee as the woman before her shrink. It seemed as if the only thing about her that hadn’t changed in any form or manner was her green eyes.
“No!” Emily cheered giggling and clapping her hand together once, before lacing her fingers together.
She found herself curious all over again, with what kind of place she had found herself employed to. Abnormal children, and morphing researchers.
“Have you always been able to do that?”

Kitten shrugged wide shoulders and gave the woman a nod before growing to just a little under 5 feet with soft purple hair that seemed to shift like the moonlight and deep purples eyes, slanted and cat-like. With her long, pointed ears it was obvious the girl had morfed herself into an elf.
"I got it from my mother's side of my family. You should have seen the look on my father's face when I sneezed as a baby while he was holding me. I can shift into a whole other species or I can change only small things, such as eyes or ears, or whatever I want. Some things are a lot harder than others, but if I don't change for a while then it's easy. I don't usually change so shifting like I am now isn't hard. Just, don't ask me to be a dragon. That takes weeks to recouperate from."

“Wow!” Emily breathed out, as she took in not only the sight of the other woman, but the information. A bit of her really did want to see the dragon, but she knew better then to ask. “Does your father not...change?” She asked curiously after awhile.
Even as she talked, however, her eyes weren’t locked on the other’s purple ones. Rather instead studying her from head to toe. One day too many playing DND with her father and older brother made it all too easy to recognize the transformation and Emily found herself more then just a tad envious.
“Seveda? Did you know your mum could do this?” A pause. “Can you do this?” At that question Emily turned wide, curious, eyes to the tulip girl.

Seveda blinked as Emily rounded on her before the girl shook her head with a blank look. "Yes, I knew, and no, I'm not actually, well, blood related to Kitten, so it wouldn't make sense if I could do something she could. She's my mom, yea, but she didn't give birth to me." The tulip girl gave a brught smile before turning to gather her things. She knew what Kitten was going to say next.
"My father's just a mortal. He didn't even know my mother was a shifter until after I became a little horned imp in his arms." Kitten smiled at the thought of the fond memory that she only shared through the stories she'd been told.
Snapping out of memory lane, Kitten gave an apologetic smile as she spoke, changing back to her 'normal' shapes and colours. "Actually Miss Emily, Seveda and I really need to be going now. I hope you're able to find Edwin and I hope you come see Seveda and I again very soon."
With a smile, the two women left Emily with just the silence of the plants and the map in her hands.

Not blood related? Well if it had been to this woman, the different appearance would have made sense. But now she was drawn to her original theory. This place, the place of work, was birthing children that seemed to have something to do with plants. Dala had rose petals in her hair, for example.
She nodded her head to this new information. “Makes sense.” She murmured but couldn’t help the giggle at Kitten’s ‘horned imp’ story. “Suppose he was in for a shock, huh?” She snickered behind a hand she had brought up while laughing.
At the mention of them needing to leave, the giggles slowed, then halted. A smile planted itself on her lips, her hands coming together in front of her, her fingers lacing themselves together. “Okay, I understand. Thank you again. I’m sure it will help a lot. Hope to see again as well.” And with that the two were gone.
Once she was certain both had really gone, and weren’t coming back, Emily shifted in her spot, then spun around all together. Her legs carrying her briskly to the spot where she had left her notebook. Picking up the said object, she fumbled through the pages until she reached the picture of Seveda and stared at it intently.
Then, flipping the pages, she sat back down on the ground and began to draw the image of a woman who could change her shape. When she was done, she would leave the green house, but at the moment she was content to just her drawings.
