Wow!! thats pretty good for a freshman. Nice! lol, now i can see why it took you so long, lol. Even as an art student myself, lol!
Yeah, i took classes freshman year, and last semester, lol. So i tend to know what i'm talking about when it comes to art...Lol, at least my personal opinion about artwork....lol. Lets just say i was "well-taught" enough.....lol

Dragonfan39 Lol i was taught to draw what i see. One techique i learned is something called "Contour drawing". Thats when you take a piece of paper, and like tape it down to something (depends) and you look at an object (either a body part, of something else in the room) and literally draw what you see. Your not allowed to look at the paper, or take your pencil off of the paper. One continous line. This helps ALOT!! trust me. Once you get a feel for what things actually look like, it's easier to free-hand things to look realistic.
Lol at first, the "countour" picture will look really deformed, and disfigured, but thats what it's supposed to look like...lol.
TIP- if u do use contour drawing, make your pencil follow your eye line...It takes a long time, but if you go really slow, and make ur pencil follow the outline of what your eye see's....then it'll work.
Did any of that make like...any sense at all? lol sorry...it's hard to explain...lol Its called blind contour, yeah i know. I wouldnt consider it a technique but It would help for practice.

I'm one of those unique self taught artists. Its a talent I had discovered not long ago. IT was kinda funny to cause I was doodling and my mom was all like"Oh my god..we have an artist in the familly again.". Cause on bolth sides of my familly, we had a few famous artists, and there talents skipped a few generations. -_-
Oh, and also. Ive never learned how to draw what I see. I just sit there, staring at the picture for 5 minutes probebly less then I have some Crazy idea lol.

Here's some of my artwork (uncolored, lol). There all part of the Role-Play, and might be slightly innacurate. But i did what i did from artistic perspective...lol. Check them out!
This one is of lecta and Draku in the hotspring. [x]
This is one of Eleyym, seeing the future. That thing on the oval in his hands is his Symbols. Thats what you should look for in other pictures i make...lol. Generally that means something, but otherwise it just looks cool, lol. [x]
This is one of Eleyym, and lecta in the temple, after the healing thing. [x]

I like the thought that it is bent more on realism than anime looking. Keep it up! I like your style. Not really that polished yet, but that can easily be remedied if you work on it. wink
