Valefor quietly followed Remus out of the room and toward the kitchen, flashing Aear a grateful smile as she went. Upon arriving she waited a few minutes to allow Remus some time to compose himself better.
"Does it help to know why? It does explain why her reaction was so sudden and profound, hearing about the new kits. But... I worry for your sake, Remus Lupin. I imagine it's going to be a bit akward for you when Liliana is around..." She looked wistfully at the tap. "Though I understand if you don't really want to speak about it right now. Perhaps we should have that water? I'll get it, if you'll just point me toward the glasses."
Seer paused in her movements when Theron pet her and chirped curiously. Petting wasn't an experience she'd actually enjoyed before this point, and it was kinda nice! She stood up on her hind legs to the best of her ability, trying to raise her head up where Theron could reach it better. Inexorably she toppled onto her back as usually happened when she tried to do things like that, unintentionally exposing her bright yellow belly for a rub.

The wizard nodded, still in shock but hearing her words. Without answering he waved his wand to fetch two bowls from the counters, fill them & a teapot with water from the sink, deposit the bowls before each of them & set the pot on the sink to boil. He needed tea. Hemi chirped reasuringly in his ear, nomming lightly on the banded tip.
Remus took a long drink before he could find the voice to reply. "As you said... it explains a lot about the situation. I think of different situation as well as the one at hand..." His voice faltered and Hemi snuggled against his ear. "I ... it was not a thought that would have crossed my mind. I... suppose it will be awkward at first... knowing what I know now."
His deft mind wondered so many things now that the bomb had been dropped. None of which he could quite put his paws on nor could thing of a way to ask his daughter when he had a chance.
Theron reached up to hug the kit as she stood on her hind legs and was left with arms outstretched as Seer fell over. But upon seeing her exposed belly the shock of her falling left him and his eyes sparkled once more, flopping to her side to rub at her belly with a laugh. "Belly belly belly!"

Tea sounded much better than water, on that Valefor could easily agree. "I must admit I feel badly for Liliana as well. From what I've learned of her... she probably didn't know she felt that way until after she found out about your new children. Actually... I think Atae was there when it happened. She said something, once, about Lily finding out about a problem that she nor Endless could help with, but she didn't know if she should tell me about it because it was personal for Lily..." She paused and shook her head. "I can't help but wonder how akward she still feels about it, if she still holds herself at a distance from you."
She paused for a moment more. "But she's at least beginning to come to terms with it. She's not avoiding you all alltogether, after all. I wish I could tell you whether or not you should approach her about it or wait for her to open up at least in part on her own. I've never dealt with anyone quite as emotionally naive as your daughter, even if I was around for over a millenia in my previous life."
She glanced up at the pot of warming water. "What sort of tea do you have, might I ask?" Perhaps a mild change of subject was in order. There was little either of them could do about Liliana at this point in time.
Seer's eyes widened and she squeeled slightly when Theron first flopped beside her, but that was quickly replaced by little kitten purrs. That was niiiice~ Maybe she should go hunt down that human that was supposed to around at her house?
She wiggled her rump and rolled over, licking Theron's hands and face as thoroughly as she was allowed before scampering over to climb up Aear's back, apparently curious about what the group of kits in the rafters were doing.

Remus shook his head, & shrugged his shoulders. "Except for her being a way more, I've not noticed much change in her around me. Since she returned anyway. I guess I assumed her disappearance was because of the new kits for a different reason, but now I see it must have been me..." his head fell to his legs and Remus sighed, Hemi pipping curiously. "When she started studying new things like alchemy and being more silent and away more I guess I figured it was just her growing up. She finally had friends... I was happy for her. I thought she told me everything... we were always so close. I'd been worried at her not seeming to want to go out & make friends, but..." but never thought she was not going out to make friends because she might be in love with me! How could I miss something like that? Thought the kitsu who had not been able to believe that his own best friends loved him until it was driven home to him.
"Maybe Lily talks 'bout loves once she knows of loves?" Hemi chirped helpfully. "Lily loves lots, doesn't know it. Nope-nope!"
"I don't know, Hemi... perhaps." Remus did not know he was slipping into t contractions again. He glanced at the tea pot, wondering if Liliana would come to him should Endless profess his love. But he hoped so. Oh. That was right: Valefor had asked a question. "Teas? Oh. Right. I was going to make Earl Grey, but there's also Deijing as well as vanilla almond, dark chai, a Scottish Holiday blend and few kept for illnesses."
The child squealed, squirming & rolling. "No lick! No lick!!" Then he licked the kit back to the laughing amuzement of the other pets. His mother looked agast -the look of one who's been trying to get her son to stop a particular action & not succeeding.
And of course AearHwesta was laughing so much he did not notice when the flying kit quartet turned as one and flying dive-tackled their favorite uncle. He rolled back under their combined weight with a surprized "Umph!!"

((Gah, it figures the battery in the cordless mouse would die right as I was about to click the Reply button after re-reading your last post. I can navigate around here with the keyboard but it's a pain. ><))
Valefor nodded. "Earl Grey is fine." She paused for a moment, searching for a new topic, and settled on one that would hopefully help Remus come out of his funk and satiate some of her generalized curiosity about how things functioned.
"Remus, I do apologize for making such a drastic change in subject, but I was wondering if you could explain how your magic functions? Or do you even know? Magic was a rather prominent thing where I originated, but it seems both similar and rather different from your kind, in certain ways." She smiled behind her mask. "Although I can quite understand if it isn't readily explained. Magic rarely seems to allow itself to be made readily explainable."
Seer watched the four tackle Aear, startled, and belatedly joined in by pouncing on one of his tails. Then she yawned, but stubbornly shook herself to keep from getting sleepy and starting climbing over Aear toward the other kits.
((I'm not entirely sure what else we should do with this. Any ideas about Lily or should we try to wrap it up?))

((Let's wrap this up because we can, and there's a lot of changes we can RP after now. I can set up a thread for Ginny to confront Endless tomorrow. And maybe one for Aear, Val, & Seer? *hugs* hope your mouse gets better.))
As the water boiled Remus prepared the tea with a small nod. He would have plenty of time to think on the matter if nothing happened to bring it to a head, seeing as how the full moon was not far away. So he latched gratefully on the proffered topic, launching into the workings of magic from the wizarding standpoint and also interjecting some things he, Liliana & the talaye Weasley twins had been able to figure out about other magics in conjuction with it. Which of course also included an explanation to the creation & workings of the magic door. Climbing onto his father's back, Hemi listened wide eyed.
Theron clambored into the kitsu pile, following Seer's yawn with one of his own then snuggling & "nesting" between the warm bodies. A few other yawns followed -one from AearHwesta. "Ginny-lass? Would ye be a dear & shoot some o' those pillows our way? I'm thinkin we should have ourselves a rest while Valefor-luv & Rem-lad chat in the kitchen."
Winding her way over, Trelweny snatched a complaining but very tired Theron from the pile. "For you too, Little Man. Let's get you ready for bed." She smield as the kits shifted their pile on the full angelic male for sleeping. "Tell Valefor bye for me, won't you? And see that she knows she & the kit are welcome anytime. Ginny... let me know when you hve that chat with Endless. I'd love to know how that goes."
A chorus of "sure"s followed her as the human mother took her son down the hall.
