Has anyone noticed how sad his ending had to be, he falls into a deep sleep leaving everyone behind. Especially the the 2 girls who loved him the most, Nina and Kat.

Ive been pondering what if he didn't have to leave everyone behind and there was another way to seal off the cave. How would things have turned out then,
what would we do? seeing that he has 2 beautiful women just waiting for him would he try for Kat, Nina or would he have both girls.(as implied in the piccy, not done by me)

Yes,There is another alternate BoF2 ending but involes rescuing Ryu's father,Gander.

If you rescued Gander,he'll take back to Township.where they discover that Gander will able allow control the Machine that converts into Flying fortress.

In order to rescue Gander,you will need to defeat the monsters(not Gander in the machine!) To allow this.when that happens,after you whoop deatheven,you see alternte ending verison (this one the good ending...) of BOF2.

and Ryu will choose Nina.

There's also another ending with BOF2 involes you waiting instead of going inside the gate.

I do not remember him choosing anyone. I have played this game a lot.
