I hate hiding everything from my mum and da' but if I do just come out and say Mum I love Magick, I belive i am wiccan and i want to continue with this wounderful belife she would smack me so hard my children would feal it (also just for the record I don't have kids....YET!) How do I study but not get cought in the process?! I cant keep hiding it neather what do I do or say when the time comes and when should that time be?!

Some aspects of magical practice will catch people more off guard than others. Many aspects are actually relatively mainstream nowadays. There are plenty of spirituality centers, for example, that will teach basic energy work, chakras, healing touch, and things along those lines. They won't neccesarily explain it from the standpoint of magic, but it is essentially the same thing that you do.

I personally think the biggest reason people have such a strong reaction to Wicca is because they don't even know what it is about. They hear "Wiccan" or "witch" and have preconceived notions about either. Maybe if you tell your parents about it by first explaing it to them (in really simple broad terms, since all Wiccans are different), then maybe they wont be so offended or angry.

Haruhana I personally think the biggest reason people have such a strong reaction to Wicca is because they don't even know what it is about. They hear "Wiccan" or "witch" and have preconceived notions about either. Maybe if you tell your parents about it by first explaing it to them (in really simple broad terms, since all Wiccans are different), then maybe they wont be so offended or angry. hmmmm ill have to give that a try....

Actually, that's what I've been doing for quite some time. I love magick myself and I love being a witch. Yet only like 3 of my friends know that I am a witch and practice magick. Most of my other friends I would never tell just mostly because I know they would never accept it. I've talked to a couple of my friends about "magick" and see what they thought and believed and all I got was a bunch of negative comments so that made me feel sad so I just hide that part from them yet I wish I could tell them. It's the same with my parents. They'll never understand since I know how they feel about it. So, I'm gonna continue to hide it. Yet if you feel your parents wouldn't accept that then just continue to hide it. It's your choice whether or not you wanna tell them. 3nodding
