One of my associates, I do not consider this person a friend in any way or form, claims that later in the series Kaiba starts to believe in the Heart of the Cards. Is this true? >_>; I'm not sure if he got this information from Wikipedia or not, but I believe he did, and we all know that anyone can come along and edit pages on Wikipedia to make it have the information they so desire it to have. However, I can never be so sure. It's just a bit "gag me, please!! D:<" kinda information. So, can anyone clear this up for me? sweatdrop

Im not sure myself, but when ever I watch the last few series I still see him yelling at Yugi for preaching to him about the HOTC.

I always thought he hated them, but I haven't seen the entire series so I have no idea.

At the beginning of the series you really get to finding that Kaiba finds Yuugi's theory on the HOTC to be believable, but not stable enough of a creed to depend on in order to rescue Mokuba from Pegasus' ***** clutches. blaugh Later in the series, however, as opposed to the American series where 4shame entertainment just made him out to be a blatant a*****e, the Japanese rendered him to be much more philosophical and--even if only slightly--more open-minded. Hell, my all-time favorite quote with him and Tsuda voicing is "Hn. Those who succumb to the future cannot see the light of hope," Episode 94. mrgreen mrgreen mrgreen

yes, i think that Seto believed in the HOTC in the end too, especially in the Oricachos [don't know the spelling], when they were dueling Dartz, i think Seto said something about it.

I think that to be able to come to a conclusion of whether or not he believes in the HotC, you have to find if his character would allow it or not. a*****e: yes. But idealist: yes, as well. You could make an argument for his archetype being a failed idealist, which leads to his bitterness, but that's a tangent for another day. If you believe him to be part idealistic, then it should be logical for you to assume that Seto can, and may believe in the HotC. If you don't see him as part idealistic, then of course you're not going to see Seto believeing in it.
Your "gag me please D:<" reaction could be because you don't see Seto as having the lighter, idealistic side that would allow him to be capable of believing in the HotC.
