Ok, as of what I thing. Wow. Um....

I think that golobal warming is NOT caused by humans. We are NOT the main problem with dealing with it and if we really did stop whatever we are doing, like polluting and calening up all of our garbage, it would only knock down the Earth's overall temp by ONE DEGREE. <-- Proven true.

Although we still do really need to clean up, Global Warming is a natural phenomenon and we do not have a HUGE impact on it. Not saying that we don't at all, we just don't have the impact needed to "make the world die and blow up...."

The problem with climate change for humans is just that - change. Long lived, slowly reproducing species like humans thrive in a constant environment. The overall temperature of earth might not change much, but if ocean levels rose only a little, it could flood major cities. Also if the plains and steppes, major grain producing areas of the world, dry a little and become deserts, then human life, society, and culture, will be deeply impacted. Maybe Canada will become the next major grain belt. Humanity would survive but this kind of shift cannot help but alter human politics and civilization. It might be all out war. Talk about domino effect!

And don't forget the large amounts of frozen methane gas on the bottom of some ocean floors, even a slight raise in earth's temp down there could cuase more methane to come flowing up then we have oil in oil reserves. And methane gas is a greenhaouse gas as well.

Apparently not many here are up to date....The global temps. have dropped and temps are now cooler than 100 years ago due to 2 things that can impact the global temps waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more that humans can.....

To put it in perspective...

Think of all the humans as an ant...now think of the sun, volcanoes, continental drift, the ENSO cycle, and other natural variations as a skyscraper.

The 2 things that have erased the last 100 years of warming in just a little over a year are the La Nina (Cold phase of the ENSO cycle) and the lack of sunspots which has been linked to the cause of the little ice age.

See my post on falling global temps. in the main forum for more of my "Ozone Al is a hypocrite rant".

Ps. Although I don't believe in anthropogenic global warming I do believe that we need to clean up our act to make air, water and land quality better.
