Man, I hate this time of the year. I think I'm relatively confident and sexy...
... but put me in a bathing suit and it's like I'm a fourteen year old girl again, soooo CONSCIOUS of my body and how other people look at me. I wear a sarong a lot of the time if I have to be in a swim suit.
It's like an evil ritual. rofl

MadameStoner i love going to lakes!
i guess i kinda have to... living in the land of 10,000 lakes and all.
but all those lakes are still freezing because of winter. it'll probably be mid to late may when it'll be warm enough. i cant wait! pfft. 10,000 lakes. pah. wisconsin totally has more lakes than you guys do. rofl i usually just wear a tank top and shorts. and that works out well for me. otherwise it's conservative, dark colors, one piece. but hopefully that'll chance this year. since i'm going down to costa rica in the fall, i want a two piece. this will be my first two piece since i was like... five. i hope i can find a cute one that fits. and i hope i can look good in one. yiiikes.

I wanna get like a pair of trunks and a tankini top. My upper body isn't wear all my weight is, it's my lower body that's got all the fat. Lucky for me. rolleyes So whenever I'm in a bathing suit I always have a swim skirt to cover my thighs, but it doesn't cover enough and makes me look bigger when i wear a one peice. <.< I figure with a pair of trunks over my bikini bottoms and a tankini can hide all the stuff I want to and accentuate the things I want to.

^_^ I lovvvve swimming! smile I tend to not worry about what other people think, if I think its looks good, thats all that matters smile
I tend to go with a tankini, but more recently I bought a really nice one piece that I love ^_^ Occasionally I may do a bikini, but its a rare thing, just because I don't feel comfortable bearing that much skin ^^;;
Unfortunatly being in Englad I don't really get that much of a chance to go swimming sad

o.o Jeebus. Not much chance to go swimming, when all you need to do is walk briskly in any direction for two hours and you'll come up against ocean?
Ah, I kids. Swimming is fun ^.^
Although I wish somebody would invent a waterproof casset/cd/mp3 player. =o Then I could listen to the Blue Danube Waltz whilst snorkeling, which would feel very thematically appropriate. Or I could, lyke, listen to books on tape.

I don't know how to feel about the image playing in my head of somebody listening to Pride and Prejuduce while swimming... Am I happy? Am I sad? Maybe I'm just hungry... to the kitchen! *batman-style scene change*

I just hope it works =o It would be fun to have that, but I only have one mp3 player (and it's not an ipod).

I always worry about that too. What I do is I either:
1. Get a swimsuit with a skirt on it, not big but it seems to look good on me.
2. Get a regular swimsuit and then get some swim shorts.
Makes me less contentious!

Actually, if you have big thighs, boy shorts are not good. Try something with a skirt; it covers your hips and part of your thighs. If you're conscious about your belly, then you could wear a tankini top.

Oh god, I'm having a hard time too. I look best (and fall out less too) in a halter top with either boyshort bottoms or the kind with a little ruffle around the waist, and every single bathing suit out there is a little obnoxious string bikini with those little slidey triangle bits where your boobies go.
WHAT IS UP WITH THE TEENY TRIANGLE TOPS. THEY ARE SO USELESS. THEY SLIDE AROUND AND ARE ONLY BIG ENOUGH TO FIT OVER YOUR NIPPLES. scream

I think with the teeny-tiny triangle boobies, that is the desired outcome. Their intended to "accidentally" expose nipples and naughties, which works for the less than 1% of american women who would be confident and comfortable with that actually happening, which explains why they cover 75% of the store...
