The news on it in Aus here blew it out of proportion a little. I remember listening to the radio, and hearing the presenter asking if our schools were turning American..I don't know. But yeah, a lot of the media says the campus didn't alert people soon enough. It gets very frustrating, when they so blantantly use emotive and persuasive language to the extreme. But, it's not too bad. September 11 was much worse, there was barely anything else on tv for a few days that followed, and it was still in articles for a week or two.

Strangely enough, we're doing Issues in English, studying articles and so on, and examining them critically etc.

I hope everything stays okay/gets better, and that the media decides to find something else to hound after. I will definently pray for the campus, students, and the people living in that area. smile

I hope you don't mind me moving the topic back to weird YouTube videos again. It seems kinda wrong putting the two together - perhaps we should make a special Virginia thread?

So, what's up with the Itchies? (and their genetic brothers, the black locusts, plague bugs, etc.)

I mean, I know that Blizzard wasn't as rich as it is now, what with World of Warcraft and everything, but surely Diablo 1 sold enough copies to hire someone to make a swarm of insects not look like a swarm of black pixels?

The only excuse is that the resolution of the average monitor back then wasn't high enough...but come ON. And you can't see it here but their attack animation sucked, and their dead bodies just made it look like the level had broken.

This is kinda turning into a 'weird stuff I found on YouTube' thread but this is kinda awesome.

Monkey is one of my fav TV shows ever, that you can hardly find any stuff about (even though it's all out on DVD now).

Anyway, these guys did a spoof video of a guy dressed up as the main character (Monkey - duh!) for their rap song. Normally I hate rap (hence why it comes under what the f-heck) but I actually LIKED this rap song. It's kinda serious lyrics considering they've got a guy running round London dressed as a mythical Monkey god played over the top of it... all the same...

Yeah it's a Japanese TV series based on Journey To The West. It's (slightly) famous over here because they dubbed it into English with... well, a bit of an edited script as in packed full of bad jokes and things. Really bad dubbing - but with the PERFECT voices. The actors recently came back and dubbed some ones that hadn't been shown before for the DVD release.

He had lots of magic moves and sayings and insults and things! Like whistling for his cloud and making this funny little noise when he was annoyed. And then there was the narrator with his strange morals at the end of each episode. ("The nature of Monkey was - irrepressible!")

Yes I love this series so much! I also love the whole Monkey story. I'm hoping they'll do a new version soon, since the Japanese one is quite old. I saw, I think, a Chinese version which is a lot newer and very funny but I could only find a few episodes. And then there was the strange American movie version... confused Surprisingly watchable!
