Ms_Phoenix I don't really have a huge One Piece background but...who is the black guy that they turned white? Just a random crew mate for Buggy the clown. Of course no one cares when an American cartoon turns a black comic character white. 4kids actually fixed that mistake.

Today's the day. Today is the start of the new dub. I have faith that FUNi will do a good job. I already heard a clip and the cast sounds pretty solid. I already miss Zoro's voice though. Still Chris Sabat will do a good job I'm sure.

I can't believe Vic Mignogna sang the opening song... *flashbacks of Vic's english version of True Light [D.N. Angel op]* that's kinda... odd. I don't dislike it but usually Funi's pretty good about getting the Japanese opening rights (with few exceptions coughKodochacough). But it's nice for One Piece.
I like the cast, then again I didn't really get used to the old cast as much as other people did. But so far so good.

Vic sang the opening? Oh man, I didn't realize that!
I'm not entirely sure how I feel about the cast, though I have to say at the very least, Sanji's voice is a vast improvement. Bleh.

My god people are complaining about the new voices. People love Sanji's old voice. People are complaining that Sanji sounds normal. They are complaining about Chopper sounding the same in his big form. My god Complaining that sanji's new voice sucks. I know there are oppions and I respect opinions but come on how can 4kids Sanji NOT make your ears bleed?

People who have only seen the 4kids version of One Piece have only a vague concept of the characters, so its no wonder they're complaining about it.
Sanji's new voice= heart
Zoro's...I've wanted to hear Chris Sabat play him from the get go...though his 4kids actor was actually good too. (He was much better as Guts from Berserk though)
Luffys: I can't quite pin down what exactly I think of this voice...I mean I love it...but at the same time it sounds kinda...I dunno...I don't know how to explain.
Chopper's: Very cute...especially when he's freaking out
Ussop: Sunny Strait FTW! Thats all I have to say...
Robin: I might actually end up liking the English VA BETTER (as apposed to just equally), I want to hear her talk more...
Nami: This was also a VA I wanted to hear from the very beginning. I can't imagine another English VA doing a better job with Nami's character than Luci.

I only caught bits and pieces of the premiere, but Luci did an absolutely fantastic job. I loved listening to Nami. 8D
I did miss the opening...so...*youtubes* xD

This is rather old, but I'd like to add that Justin Cook was the PERFECT Bellamy. So much so, that Bellamy is now one of my favorite villains, though I never paid him much attention previously.

well even thought its extremly better now ifind people still complaining like a lot. i hate that they seek out english content just to put in their two cents worth and bash the dub crying its depressing how some people you can just never please.
