I was watching a movie and someone said "midate yai" or something that sounded like that. Someone told me it was kansai-ben, but they didn't know what it meant or if that's even a real word (if he was really saying midate yai and not something else). Anyways can someone help me out with this?

I'm not sure without knowing the context, but it might have been "medatsanai"...maybe? If it was, then that means the opposite of "stand out" as in
"He doesn't stand out in a crowd." It also kinda means "not striking" as in "That color is not striking." Ugh, I'm not saying this well at all. (-_-")
