Was he too late? Irene reached the scene just in time to see the boy being flung, carrying the poor girl with him. He stood there, shocked at the imprudent actions from the clown and the fact that the girl was actually in trouble. The emotion of anger and anxiousy rushed up to the young man's head like a rocket, and heat swelled down all the way to his feet like meteors. It was not the matter of reserved or outgoing, but the debate between whether to look after Crystal first or charge at the clown for what he did.
Seeing that the girl was seemingly loosing conscious, Irene quickly bend over to Crystal and held her up, trying to loosen up her arms that was wrapped around the boy. He carefully mounted her up to her head laid on his lap, and looked own on Crystal's pale face that was twisted by pain.
"My lady, where are you hurting?" Irene earnestly whispered, hoping that the lady was still conscious to respond.

"Ruddy.... bandages!" Abby tore off her bindings, revealing a drab dark blue and green gringam skirt and vest, with a white frock with it's fluffy sleeves rolled to her elbow. It rather did look nice, in a conservative sort of way. The bandages wouldn't make a proper lasso, but they might be able to trip up that ball or the boy on top of it with them.
"Pardon me miss!" She called to the woman with a monicle, throwing one end of a bandage to her. "You take that way, I'll go this way! Let's cut him off and hope he can't jump over it!"

"I'm okay, just a little...queasy." Degas whimpered a little pleased to have the ground and the world righted again. Happiness lasted for only a moment as Degas realized someone cushioned his fall. He scrambled to get off her only realizing that it wasn't her and there rested a woman with a young lord who seemed very sad. It was his savior having injured herself to save him.
"Don't DIE!!" He cried out unthinkingly. The scene was some how more beautiful to him but he could think of little to help or say in such a worrisome situation.

The corner of his mouth twitched as Irene heard Degas' overly-pessimistic comment. He cast a quick glance at the green haird boy, and said, softly but reassuringly.
"She'll live, just give her some air."
And kill that clown, Irene thought. But that shall have to be done at a later moment.

Crystal grimanced a little at the sudden motion of being moved, feeling her head swim again. She crackled open an eye, barely able to see beyond the crest of her mask. "Mm, I...my Lord, I'm all right..." she took a shallow breath, "...just winded." She cringed again at the cry of the green-haired child. "Oh sweetie," she managed between breaths, "I wont...die, I'm just...stunned, and--"
She suddenly shot up, looking towards the carnival child. "MENT! That other boy, he...he has someone else!" she blurted before she fell promptly back onto Irene's lap, covering her eyes with her hand. She chastized herself inwardly for moving too fast, while silently cursing herself for not moving fast enough in the first place to put Ment's mind at rest.

Sati caught the bandage, a smile quirking at the edge of her mouth. Not a bad idea at all. "Yes," she simply said, bangles jingling as she jogged until the bandages were taut. She tied the makeshift tripwire to a sturdy table, pulling the sailing knot tight.
Now to lure the brat this way..."Catch!" said the merchant, tossing the clear, fist-sized gem to the formerly-bandaged woman. She nodded towards the other side of the tripwire, miming beckoning gestures. She hoped the chaotic clown might take a fancy to the shimmering jewel. "To lure him over," she said, disappearing back into the crowd. She'd take the back, her bodyguards on the sides. With a bit of luck, they'd have him surrounded.

Ment tried the best he could to grab the vial form the child's hand, but his endevour seemed to be in vain. As in moments the harmless white cloth that the child had pulled from it's sleeve was now about Ment's waist and dragging him up onto the ball, "We're going for a ride pretty Lady!" It giggled.
Ment made a noises as he was hoisted up onto the child's back, "But I'm a BOY!!" He cried, as the child's ball bounced higher and higher, heading towards the crowd once more.

Fumbling with the jewel, Abigale did catch it with one hand, and clutched it to her bosom until she was sure she got a firm grip on it. Twisting the bandages around her wrist to tighten her grip, Abby leaned back to make sure the bandages were as tight as possible.
"Right!" Oddly enough, she was vaguely proud of misunderstanding "masquerade" wasn't the same as "costume party".

"Please do not move yourself, my lady." Irene pressed gently but firmly at Crystal's shoulder, and nudged her toward him a little closer. The young man looked up to see two woman plotting to catch the clown. Irene secretly wished that he could just jump in and stab the child...if he had a sword with him. He shook his head, and decided that it was probably for the best to stay with Crystal. And that was what he did. Laying down Crystal on the floor just momentarily for him to get up, Irene lifted the girl, one hand on her shoulder and the other on her knees, and made his way slowly out of the crowd and out of the center of the attention. He'd put her down some place safe, and would return for the devil child.

Kier frowned when the boy tossed Degas away, hurting Crystal in the process. She made a beeline for the girl, but paused when she saw Irene tend to her. Changing course, she instead headed for the child and his new captive. Speeding up, she took as deep a breath as she could and leaped, aiming a kick to the child's back. "HEY, JERKFACE!"
