While the other boy was busily gaping at him, Ryker had quietly been contemplating all the things he was going to force the kid to do for him - clean his room? Absolutely. Do all his chores? For sure.
Kilah's screeching jerked him out of his reverie, made him realize he'd totally blown his chance at escape. Groaning, Ryker shot the front door a longing look and then, shoulder slumping forward, he tramped back toward the other room, trying to look as miserable and dejected as physically possible. Amazing, how oone second you could be on top of the world with a brand new slave servant, and the next you were getting ordered around by mean girls.
Sliding (or rather, moping) into the room, Ryker plastered himself against the wall just inside the door and glowered across the way at everyone else, keeping one ear open as Kaon translated.
"Awwww, Kilah," he whined, once he got what was going on -- about Anlasa's boyfriend leastways. "Why've you gotta be choppin' the heads off crud all the time. Geeze lehweez."

"Shut up, you little a*****e," Kilah hissed. She'd surprised herself she hadn't taken Ryker out yet, even if the reason for it was to get close enough to slaughter all those people. There were other ways. Ones she could figure out if her sword just happened to slip. "For your information, he attacked me. He attacked me. I didn't have any interest in hurting your little boy toy. Which, he was cheating, by the way, since he was always asking me---" Suddenly, she paused. Paused and looked thoughtful. One always knew when Kilah was thinking something over.
It didn't happen often, but when it did, her entire face scrunched up. Wait, this didn't make any sense. Hadn't Momoro said he'd only been created for the purpose of killing Kilah? This girl made it seem like he had an actual life. "Were you arranged?"
"No, he asked," responded Ansala curtly.
"I'm not surprised he'd ask that one because WOW," Kaon chimed in, though entirely to himself. Seriously. Those things were so huge. Stupid Ryker didn't even appreciate 'em.
"Ryker and I will have to talk to our peacemaker about this." Kilah turned toward Ryker's voice. "You and me and Noharu need to sit down and have a little chat. You, the stupid one following him, go and find her. You're my b***h now."
"Yes ma'am!" chirped Kaon, and off he went. Maybe if he was really quiet he could get a little tiny just a bit of a peek later...

Ryker leapt forward a few feet the moment Kilah ordered Kaon to get Noharu. "Hey, he's my slave!" the rook complained, flapping his arms in protest and generally throwing a bit of a trantrum - one that, once he caught sight of Kilah's expression, faded pretty quickly, but a tantrum nonetheless.
Freakin' - he gets a slave and then it gets taken away after all of two minutes. Not-freakin'-fair.
Sighing, Ryker flopped back against the wall again and glowered, sliding down the plaster and crossing his arms stubbornly over his knees, hooking his chin on his wrist and jutting his lower jaw forward as they waited for Noharu.
"Why do I gotta be here?" He just wanted to play outside, darnit.

"It's not like I want your sorry a** here," Kilah pointed out. It's not like she really wanted some annoying little servant, either, she just didn't want Ryker having one.
It was a shame, that, because Kaon appeared to be quite a catch as far as enslaving individuals went. He found Noharu in all of two minutes, and bounded happily back into the room with her. It wasn't that he didn't like Ryker (which he didn't, a little, to be honest), but he would much rather follow that around all day.
Kilah breathed heavily and announced, "Alright, we're going to the Sin'aeis mansion."
