Prologue: Once, a long time ago, there were 18 members of an Order; they were called The Elders. Each Elder had a special gift or talent that could be used to stop evil…or good. We all lived on the planet, Forever; in the main city of Promise, in happiness and peace. The Elders ruled this city and the planet, but sometimes, things got bad. Sometimes, The Elders fought with each other and the people too. Soon, it became so bad that the 18 members divided up into four groups to rule their own cities the way they wanted to. Many people followed them and agreed with them and fought with the others about who was right, and who was wrong. Finally, everybody separated onto different continents to be ruled by the four groups of The Elders. Oblivion, ten members followed into its midst, humans and angels followed the ten to what is now known as their city. Twilight, only two members, angels, demons, and humans followed him to their city. Dawn, again, only one member, demons followed him, to what is now known as the Demon city. And now, Eternity, five members, only angels followed them, it is now other referred to as the Angel city. Each continent, city, and country has their own ways; some may have strict rules while others may not have rules at all. Some may have wars and deception waiting on the very brink of destruction, while others have peace and kindness flowing throughout their world. Some may have kings and some may have councils, but The Elders vowed they would never reunite again.
Oblivion, (Where the main storyline takes place)many people happily live there, only angels and humans were allowed to have peace in this city. Though, sadly, Oblivion’s ten council members believed in strict rules, as well as obedience in every way. Unfortunately, some of its citizens think otherwise. Oblivion’s school was the highlight of the city itself, nearly every child went through the school; and each parent was proud to say that their children were attending it. Some students are better than others, some are worse, but all actions are watched by the council. A student graduates when they complete all fifteen grades, a child begins school when they first turn seven and graduate when they turn the age of 22.
There are two forms of blood that many people know of, dark and purification. A mixture between these two is highly impossible, they also teach that in Oblivion marriage is a partnership, it does not involve love, only agreeable relationships based on law alone. Of course, there are ten members of the council, a cruel and law-threatening council. Each council member represents a certain law, which is why there are only ten laws. The laws they are assigned fits their character, the way they live life. Are these laws really necessary? Do they really teach us to live our own lives as we should? Should we really be forced to abide in this?
The school of Oblivion was divided up into three major sections, Dark, Purification, and the Office. The school had a bridge between two of the sections where you could look over all Oblivion and see its progressing economy. These two powers of Dark and Purification have been with humanity for thousands of centuries, it was the wielder of these powers who chose what to do with it. The last section was known for the council, other known as the Office by students. The office, usually council members had meetings, discussed issues and held other business matters in it. It was the major gossip issue of the school when a certain person was called down to the office. Usually these visits only meant one thing….getting married. Each woman dreaded what lay in store for them when his/her name was called to be sent down to the office.

Oblivion Rules: Never allowed to leave this city, Oblivion, unless banished forever. A man is never allowed to marry a woman until she reaches the age of 20. Not allowed to kiss another if you are not married to one another. Marriage must be arranged by the council, and you may not choose who you marry. Never allowed to cross onto another's property unless with permission or unless married to one another. If two people must choose to marry one person, then they must duel to the death. No two sources of different blood may be combined into one. Example: Purification and Dark blood. No mortal is allowed to make any kind of Angel betray anyone or thing. No will or can defy the council or its members. Punishment: Banishment. No person or thing is allowed to force a woman into doing anything that consists of disobeying the ten laws.

As Jamie Lane walked down the long corridor of the school, swinging her bag in her left hand, her long, straight, black hair swayed slowly. Her pants swished against each other as she walked, her black shirt with a pink bow on the top of it, coming down to the bottom of the zipper on her jeans. She smiled silently as Master Black walked down the hall. She did not have to bow to Masters, other known as teachers, anymore; this was because she was not a lower student. But not just because of that, none of the angels bowed anymore, wings were often considered as ‘too much of a hassle’. Her wings were not that big, they were white, unlike others. Then she thought about it for a second, there aren’t that many angels are there? Her wings were the only white ones among the small group of angels, well out of about, maybe seven other students, that is. Jamie turned suddenly into her classroom, her teacher; Master Greenwell was seated in his chair staring at some papers. He looked up at her when she walked in; she smiled to him politely and sat comfortably in her desk. Suddenly the bell rang-the bell to tell people that they should be in their classes. A student that had walked in barely in time breathed a sigh of relief as she sat in her desk behind Jamie. Then Jamie looked around again as she took another bite out of her apple that she had taken from her bag that she laid on the ground.

Ariana grimaced as she pulled her long elegant hair into a tight bun. Standing and folding her large black wings to her back she waved at her mother with a very slight smile. School, and a new one at that, she hated it. Being new to anywhere wasn’t good. Grimacing once more she pulled herself together, a composed look covering her face. Walking swiftly and silently toward the large building that was the prestigious and important school she moved toward the front door, talking to the official at the door who escorted her toward Master Greenwell’s room. Putting her shoulders back she walked in, her dark green eyes fixing on her teacher who motioned silently to a seat near Jamie.

Jamie watched as Master Greenwell motioned this new girl to sit by her. She smiled to her as she watched her sit down. A new student...Jamie thought with a laugh, too bad Noah missed this one. She suddenly looked around, where was he today? She thought solemnly. He was always skipping class, but he had skipped class all this week. I wonder if he is ok. She thought with worry. She turned back to the new student and smiled and said, "Hi, my name is Jamie." She kept smiling as suddenly Greenwell yelled at her, "Lane!" Jamie jumped at the sound of her last name and then turned to her Master as he continued, "Find him! Now!" She knew who he was talking about-Noah. She laughed nervously as she looked to the new student and shrugged as she rolled her eyes. She stood up and walked out the door. The funny thing was, was that she knew exactly where Noah would be. On the bridge over looking all of Oblivion, the same bridge that separated the dark and purification classrooms.
