My friend invited me to his server, I'm joining it on sunday, and I don't mind being a priest for the guild, but I wanna be cool too. They play horde, so I'm thinking undead. Please gimme advice, thank you.

ninja undead shadow priests are pretty deadly. You can another dot as undead, devouring plague. So thats always nice for you.
As someone already stated, as shadow you're healing ability is severely limited. You shouldn't notice too much of a difference for the lower lvls, and should be able to heal just fine until you get up to higher end content.
That being said, if there is someone else who is also being a healer, shadow priest is really nice to have in the group. VE is nice, as is that one where it regains mana... Can't recall the name.
As well, for lvling shadow is a much better build. If you are soloing or ina group you'll be able to take things down faster. Just be prepared to stay out of shadowform in instances in order to heal.
