Lila Malvae Edit: Furthermore, there is a theory that some of the infernal names are bastardizations of the names of mesopotamian deities done so to demonize those particular religions. I.E. Astarte, Ishtar, etc being transformed into Ashtaroth. And Baalzevul (sp?) transforming into Beelzebub, though this could be more in ridicule than demonisation. The name goes from, I think, "Lord of lords" to "Lord of flies."

Lila Malvae Belial750 LaVey was all about Power. LaVey was the bully in the playground. The satanic bible suggests making a "god" out of yourself, and worshipping it. It brings back the eye for an eye thing. Have you read the very beginning? I forget what part it is. But its like a list of "commandments" They are all very primitive and have no empathy whatsoever... ah, i found them.. 1. Satan represents indulgence instead of abstinence! 2. Satan represents vital existence instead of spiritual pipe dreams! 3. Satan represents undefiled wisdom instead of hypocritical self-deceit! 4. Satan represents kindness to those who deserve it instead of love wasted on ingrates! 5. Satan represents vengeance instead of turning the other cheek! 6. Satan represents responsibility to the responsible instead of concern for psychic vampires! 7. Satan represents man as just another animal, sometimes better, more often worse than those that walk on all-fours, who, because of his “divine spiritual and intellectual development,” has become the most vicious animal of all! 8. Satan represents all of the so-called sins, as they all lead to physical, mental, or emotional gratification! 9. Satan has been the best friend the Church has ever had, as He has kept it in business all these years! - these "commandments" or statements are absurdly... just, they remind me of the attitude many people get in if they listen to slipknot or something. I observe people in my school that can't put up any sort of fight that think they are tough. This seems like almost a dream for them that they are attempting to build into a reality. A fallback religion for power hungry or just cruel people The last part of your statement sounds like disrespect to me. I usually do not insult religion, but this religion does not help anything. No charity, no empathy. This religion promotes violence. there are not many pros at all to this religion unless you are greedy. That is obvious. Also, the infernal names are really only used to display different examples of malevolence. They are read off and shown to project the idea of selfish, carnal behavior. However, looking into their origins is entirely different.

Also, the infernal names are really only used to display different examples of malevolence. They are read off and shown to project the idea of selfish, carnal behavior. However, looking into their origins is entirely different. Charity and empathy don't necesarilly need to be part of a religion. There's nothing wrong with selfishness and greediness. It matters mostly on perspective, for example, you say it represents violence, I would imagine the best example of this would be "Vengeance instead of turning the other cheek". Well, that could be viewed as protection in several circumstances. The major problem with LaVey is he was such a sensationalist. He wrote that book, in my eyes, mostly to put fuel in an already incredible fire. That fire being religion. It shocked most people that someone would have the gull to say something like that. In the end though, there are several things I agree with in The Satanic Bible, however, his philosophy was nothing new. He took some old ones and worded them into these shocking new ways.
