This may sound Cliche, but Good and evil are just words we associate with things people do, that might be in the societies eyes, Immoral and Moral. Just because a large majority of Society believes killing Muggleborns and muggles to be Immoral, its a different story to the rest. And just because accepting those who've seemingly unrightfully gained magic in thier blood, may be moral, but not everyone agrees.
Slytherin has just a different perspective. I bet they would be deemed evil if they accepted muggleborns and the rest of the world didn't.
To each thier own. Were just smarter, not evil. wink

i think its stupid to think that slytherins are "evil" look at the other houses they are so say "good" wizards and witches, but come on evil people can come from any house look at wormtail. He was in Gryffindor and he turned out evil. I think its all on the person if they are good or evil not the house.

I don`t think Slytherins are "Evil". Like you said, they are sly and rather cunning. We are more misunderstood rather than evil.

When it comes to being evil or not, yeah, it seems like more Slytherins go to the dark side. But there were members of other houses that ended up evil too! I was a bit annoyed with how JK was always making us out to look like the ultimate nasties, but then you also have to remember that all the books are seen through the Harry filter. Harry thinks all Slytherins are evil, so it comes across that way.

Alot are just plain evil (probably because the way they were brought up) others are misunderstood and confused.

lucius-malfoy911 slytherin are not a matter of good or evil it is soley about power sacrifice and a very ambitious attitude i believe the slytherin house is the most powerful house of all time i agree with you. its not about good or evil.

I seriously don't think that just because someone is sorted into Slythering that they are automatically evil.
The sorting hat specifically said that slytherins were cunning and sly, therefore meaning that they were smart and good at planning things out. This wouls also probably make any Slytherin a good canidate for intrigue and master minding plans.
And the biggest factor that Slytherins are not evil is that Harry had the right mind for slytherin and he saved the wizarding planet did he not...
Newayz I think that the reason that J.K. made Slytherin the all round bad guy house is because ppl with a penchant for cunning devious plans and intrigue usually end up with lots of money or a desire for power...i.e Voldemort, Malfoy's, etc
But thats perfectly normal, every human being in the world has that in their nature somewhere right?

ay slytherins are a little are bit of both. i'm really misunderstood but i am also mean. most of the kids at my school a scared of me because i say i'm in slytherin.

ok maybe we are just a little bit, but all the other houses are just jealous that we are more cunning than they are.
Truthfully, it's not the entire house's fault that a couple of us slytherins use our cunning skills for our own personal gain, but hey can u blame us. I mean how else would we acquire so much money and cool outfits? wink
