I'm irish, and usually I just laugh quietly at the things americans do on St Pat's, and then I get drunk.
I know the back story, and don't really care that much. it's mostly just an excuse to have an Irish holiday.

3-Leaf Clover = Holy Trinity Snakes = Druid Traditions (there never were snakes in Ireland!)

I'm Irish(mostly), and my family and I always celebrate St.Patrick's Day by going downtown to see the parade, then partying at a friends. Sadly, I barely know anything about my history...I do know that St.Patrick was Scottish, and that he was a slave or something like that.
