"Let's go!" he yelled out in high spirits.

Feeling a sudden rush of happiness inside him, he began laughing as they both dashed through the white sandy beach. The serene ocean yet again sent a soothing breeze along their way. It was as if it was helping them reach their goal, cheering them on to never give up. With the wind in their faces, and the setting sun giving off it's last bit of comforting warmth, they were coming closer and closer to finding this elusive professor.

Waves passed a cool, if salty, breeze onto the beach-goers. Enjoying the respite from the harsh sun, Zayn let his wings and tail fan out slightly to catch as much of breeze as possible. Laughing at Fire, he began to believe it was just a race against his friend to find this strange Professor, rather than the race to find the dangerous thief it had begun as. The Retreat really was that relaxing.

Darting in and around people playing on the sand, Zayn nevertheless kept an eye out for someone (besides himself and Fire) who wasn't dressed for a relaxing day at the beach...

Eventually the pair would find what they sought in the form of a scholarly gentleman perched upon the rocks stretching out across the shores of the beach and into the shallow reaches of the ocean slightly off shore - he seemed to be lost in his own thoughts as he examined innumerable sheets of paper, adjusted his glasses and proceeded to jot to various pieces of information whether they be words or a diagram or two.

Upon closer inspection, they would be able to identify him as the very same professor who had been present at the party and had made a rather brisk exit as the event had spun out of control...needless to say, he didn't look any worse for wear but how in the world had he gotten here so fast?

Unaware of the search for him, he continued to ignore the various people who chose to walk along the beach paths and onwards into the forest trails...each was granted their own private life after all.

"Oh! Over there!" Zayn pointed to a strange man on the rocks at the end of the beach. "He's definitely out of place, it's got to be him."

With that said, he put on a burst of speed to reach the man before - well, before anything bad could happen. It was unlikely that the professor would be able to disappear into mid-air, but it was also unlikely that an airship would raid a temple, and that a forest would fight against said airship. Zayn was beginning to realise that there were a lot of 'unlikely' things that really weren't so unusual at all to some people in the world.

Of course, Zayn hadn't been paying the most attention at the party, so he didn't recognise the Professor. He was struck by a sense of familiarity as he drew closer however, certain that he'd seen the man before... He just couldn't think of where.

Coming to abrupt halt in front of the professor, Zayn used his wings to help brace against gravity's attempt to have him tumble forward. "Excuse me," he blurted, "are you the Professor that owns the airship? We were told you might be able to tell us about it, or other airships..."

Not the most subtle of openings, but time was of the essence.

Immediately, the scholarly gentleman quirked a brow at the assumption and slowly but surely began to laugh. It was not one of belittlement, rather it was one of amusement as though he hadn't heard such words before...or perhaps he had heard them all too frequently.

"That is not my airship, Young One." He replied calmly, glancing round briefly towards the airship that continued to hover over the peak of the mountain that virtually engulfed the island, "I am not that rich, I would be incapable of affording such a contraption." He mused moreso to himself before releasing an overdue sigh and returning his gaze to Zayn.

Adjusting his glasses, he took the opportunity to clear his throat and fixed the bemused smile upon his lips once more, "But I can tell you little bits and pieces of information about them...it depends entirely on what you need to know."

Fire had stopped gazing out into the blue and decided to pay attention now that they had found the professor. At the mention of the airship, he took notice of it and began to wonder who could own such a grand object...

Drawing yet again his attention back, he asked the professor politely with a smile, "We want to know about, what was it?... Regalia?"

Looking at Zayn whilst scratching his head, he looked a tad lost with his sheepish smile.

Zayn nodded at Fire's words. "Yes, Regalia. Do you know who owns her? If anyone else used her recently?" Peering up at the airship in the sky, he added his own personal curiousities. "And what are those weird black things cleaning it?"

Hopefully the Professor could give them a name, or somewhere to visit in order to find whoever had been piloting the airship recently... Maybe they'd even be able to find where they'd taken the stolen Crystal.

For a long while the professor was silent, steepling his fingers together as he gathered his thoughts and considered his words carefully for any wrong move could spell disaster on his part...

"I would have thought that the answer to such questions would have been obvious," He began slowly, shifting his gaze between the two to ensure that they were aware that he was addressing them, "The Regalia is the head of the fleet of airships owned by the 'Regalia' family, a rather old family of great tradition from the outskirts of Durem." He offered at last, clearing his throat as he glanced up briefly to see who Zayn appeared to be referring to.

"As to who and what those flickers of black are -" He paused briefly, apprehensive to continue however eventually he appeared to be reassured by something in some form, "They are mages from within the Conclave of Magic, I would have assumed you would have been aware of the rather immense building located within the city...it is rather hard to miss." He pointed out delicately, offering a wry smile as he turned his gaze towards the pair once more.

"It is a well known fact amongst scholars that the Regalia family maintained close links with the Conclave, they were of great benefit to them." He finished calmly, hoping that perhaps he had bestowed enough information upon them to minimise the number of questions they might present to him afterwards - he couldn't think of anything else they would need to cover anyway...

Silent as he mulled over the Professor's words, Zayn tried to match the information to the events at the Temple. So, the culprits was either the Regalia family or this Conclave. Or both of them together. However, only one of them could possess the Crystal. Would it have been a collector's item for a rich family, or an arcane delight for a coven of wizards?

"Looks like we'll need to go to Durem either way," he mused aloud. To the Professor, he asked one last question. "Do you know who was piloting it, or rather, in control, last night? The Regalias or the Conclave?"

It was a long shot that the Professor might know. If not, they would just have to ask around in Durem and see if either place had suddenly increased security, or see if there were rumours of either one acquiring a mystical new object.

"Zayn, should we hurry? I suddenly don't feel relaxed anymore..." Fire anxiously frowned at his team mate. "I don't feel well at all.."

Somehow he knew that this ordeal isn't as simple as it was going to be. It all seemed fun before, but now... A sudden feeling had overcome him, it wasn't pleasant yet it wasn't that awful. Staring down at ground beneath his feet, he waited for them.

Shooting Fire a concerned look, Zayn nodded. "Mmm, you're right. We can work it out in Durem."

Checking his watch, the Ieldi blanched, feathers drooping. "Aaah, we'd better hurry if we want to catch the next boat back to Gambino! Thanks, Professor," he gave the man a huge smile. "You were really helpful."

Grabbing Fire by the arm, Zayn began the race back down the beach to the port. "We'll have to hope the others meet the Professor and know to follow us," he panted, putting on an extra burst of speed. There was no time to waste looking for the others. "We need to get the Crystal back before someone decides to break it into pieces or use it for some magic ceremony..."

They made it to the ferry with minutes to spare, the workers about to cast off.

((Shall we go straight to Durem?))

Feeling himself rush from the beach to the ports, he had felt time had just flown by without notice. Fire nodded at his team mate feeling overwhelmed with what could be coming their way now that something could possibly go wrong... But he must remain strong and vigorous if he is to get through it.

"Yes, let's do this!" he screamed out in high spirits gazing at the ferry getting ready to set off into the ocean.

(( If we're directed to go there ^^ ))
