Anyone interested really needs to pick up some of Crowley's work... while he may have been sort of a b*****d in life, he knew what he was talking about. I've just recently gotten a copy of Book 4 (still need to get "Magick in Theory and Practice"), and I've been looking into the very basic-most rituals. For your pleasure, I post a link to: Liber 777 and Other Qabalistic Writings of Aleister CrowleyFor those interested in CM, just ask in this thread and I'll try to develop a book list for you~!

http://www.hermetics.org/ebooks.html Better site for books on magic, IMO. Has the entire GKoS and LKoS, as well as a bunch of other random stuff. I haven't checked it in awhile, so it's possible they've even added some more stuff while I was gone. ^_^

I know they had more than what I listed, what I was saying is that they might have more that I haven't seen. ^_^ And of course they don't have Crowley, you think I'd give you a site that had resources you already had access to? That's redundant. XD

Someone get me a book list for two things:
What's really cool, just for me,
and also, a book list you would recommend as a good starter set for magic.

I will be posting very shortly a list of books for an individual wanting to get into Ceremonial Magick... beyond that, I am not sure.
When I do post it, my advice is to NOT follow it perfectly. Look at how they organize, the symbolism they employ, and how best you can do it yourself. So many peole have their own styles, and this is how they managed to make their own. Looking at others, and being creative~!

"Modern Magick" by Donald Michael Kraig "The Golden Dawn" by Israel Regardie "The Mystical Qabalah" as well as your own handy-dandy deck of tarot/oracle cards. Then read "Magick in Theory and Practice" by Crowley For those interested in being Thelemites (followers of Crowley) I can post up the required list out of Liber ABA/Book 4. To ground oneself in the process, whether you believe in it or not, you must get yourself familiar with The Middle Pillar and The Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Pentagram. The links should be right-clicked, and downloaded, as they are pdf's. Even if you don't believe them, they will get you familiar with the foundations of much of the workings of a Ceremonial Magician/Witch/Wizard/whatever.

Aleister Crowley has his own religion, of which he is/was considered to be the prophet of said faith. That faith is called Thelema. If anyone becomes a thelemite, then they are following his teachings, and acknowledge the Master Therion (Crowley) as a prophet. There is more to it... but... I'm not part of it, so my info is thus-far limited.
