I'm so glad I'm not the only person asking questions nearly a year after the last one. XDD
I've been in a few games, but I still didn't get it (cause I died early) - what's the difference between the News Reporter and the Dark News reporter? I never understood that Oo
I get that there's not always both in every game, right?

Correct, having both is up to the current GM...
Well, in games with just the NR, their job can either be to just get clues from the killers... or if the GM's okay with it, they can get clues from the g-team (to help the killers...)
In games with both, the NR gets clues from the killers, as normal, but the DNR gets clues from the g-team (and/or the NR, if that's the way the GM rolls... and likewise, the NR can get clues from the DNR, if they want)
Er... so there ya got it... the Dark NR is just a killer aligned version of the NR. o.o

Okay, so. IF you get the GM position, you post a day 0, where you kill yourself? Or..once you get it, you pm the killers (after you rng and get game signups) and that they are killers, asking for a kill? I'm...confused. And can;t find it anywhere. Gonna go look some more.
Just asking for plan of action. Apply, get picked, ask for signups...for how long? >< is that gm-decided?
RNG killers/g-team/nr...
pm all, ask killers for kill for day 0? or kill yerself? ><

Having the "GM has been killed" be Day 0 or Day 1 is up to you. It happens first no matter what.
Either that, or you don't kill yourself and kill some unrelated person who has nothing to do with the game. Either way, something must die the first day that isn't on the memberlist.
Preferably, you send out role messages before the Day Beginning because it gives them time to contemplate a kill. Otherwise its rushed.
The Killers PM you back telling you who they wish to be killed/taken out of the game. They send a single name, and that is what you will use to write how they died.
They do not pick the kill for Day 0/1, they pick the kill for the following day after you have killed yourself.
Okay, here's a timeline if that's all confusing:
1 - Apply for GM Position
2 - Reading / Voting of Apps
3 - GM is Selected
4 - GM picks the day for Signups. * GM also gives the date in an Announcement, containing usually Signup Date, usual Update Time, Role Information, and any other info. * GM Decided, give as little or long a break as needed, usually from 3 days to 2 weeks (if requesting heavy advertising)
5 - Signups begin, GM compiles Memberlist
6 - Signups end, GM RNGs the positions and sends out mails.
7 - GM can wait a day after signups or begin immediately.
8 - GM posts an update where they themselves are killed, beginning the game. The Killers and other roles prepare their kill names, and send one each to the GM. The Killers also send a Clue to their identity for the NR, which the NR will pick one of which to get a clue of. The GM will give the requested clue to the NR the following update.
9 - Voting has completed, the GM tallies the votes and writes/finishes the update, posting it at the specified time containing who was killed and jailed. Voting begins again, GM sends requested clue to NR. Killers send in kills and the cycle continues.

Just a question...
If a GM were to take creative lisence with the kills (in the technical form) is that allowed?
i.e. "The sniper aims at Mollie. He knows that Mollie is totally distracted by Stan, who is asking where the milk is.
*BOM*
"Shoot. Stan totally got in the way!"
Like, the sniper PMs the GM saying that they target Stan, but the GM wanna makes it look like he was targeting Mollie. Would the GM have to get permission from the sniper?

If you were the sniper and you were going to shoot someone, how would you do that without it being in your post? would you pm the GM and get them to post that in there?

1119king If you were the sniper and you were going to shoot someone, how would you do that without it being in your post? would you pm the GM and get them to post that in there? Yeah, the Sniper pm's the kill to the GM, the GM then incorporates the kill into the "update" for the day, as they see fit... o.o Then the Sniper acts as a normal member of the populace, as they go and vote... I mean, you *could* tell everyone your kill, if you wanted... but that doesn't end well... o_o
