Does anyone else follow the Oscars?

I know that a lot of the time, the truly deserving films do not win. I know that what the Academy says does not have much importance in terms of what different people view as a "good" films. I still find them really fun to follow, though. I find myself getting tense at this time of year, hoping the good movies get awarded, and the not-as-good or crap films get... well... nothing.

Just a few more days... woah!

If anyone else is following this years Oscars, feel free to comment on the nominations (and winners, when the time comes).

Nominations listed on IMDB.

I rarely give a s**t about them. But this year, there was a lot of Mexican nominations, which is a good thing since we're living the second Golden Age of Mexican Cinema. One of these movies, El laberinto del fauno, directed by Guillermo del Toro, won two prizes: best art direction, and best cinematography. Babel, directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu, was nominated for best movie.

I also paid attention to them because Guillermo del Toro is from my same high school. Though that wouldn't matter if we both were from another high school, it does matters to me, because a really common trait among those who come from my high school, the Instituto de Ciencias, is the ability of automatically becoming friends with anyone who came from that school, regardless of their social or economical condition.
