Nick took a step back to avoid Colette’s sneeze.
“Well yeah, see?” he pointed at he beak with the one finger that still looked like one. “Whats why I cahn’t tahlk so well” He beak clicked on the “C” in can’t, ugh, it wasn’t painful having that happened, it just had, a unpleasant feeling to it.

"Ah.. Yeah. That's not cool," she said and then frowned. "Well.. At least you get to fly after all this is done." Colette rubbed a spot on her arm. "Ah.. Must've slept funny.."

“At least you get to fly after all this is done” he repeated in his head. That couldn’t be right, there where other birds on the island, they couldn’t fly, if they could, they’d escape, and the labs weren’t nearly that stupid.
“I don-“ he cut off, quickly reconsidering that eh was about to say, better to not upset her. Hey, it wasn’t technically a lie right?
“Mahybi we could go bacc to tha village? I havena eaten in a whiale”

Colette nodded and then looked out at the ocean. "Yeah," she said with a small smile on her face now and then rubbed her arm again. "I havn't eaten in a while either."

“Keay, letsa go bahck to tha villahge thahn” Nick looked down his front, a lot of his chest feathers where covered in a fine coat of sand. And the fact that they where bright white wasn’t helping. Staining white feathers was the same as with clothes, just a spec was enough of anyone to see it.

"Ah. Here," Colette began to brush off his feathers. "You're all full of sand." Not that she wasn't any exception. Colette's fur had a bunch of sand in it as well.

“It’s okahy It’s okahy!” he jumped back a good foot or so away. He might have gotten better at talking to girls since his stay here, but he was certain not ready to let them invade his personal space when ever they wanted.
Quickly he dusted all the sand of as fast as he could before Colette could insist helping. Embarrassed? That’s one word you could use to describe how he was feeling.
“Ca’mon, letsa a get goin’” he hurried off, trying to avoid looking her in the face.

Colette was a bit surprised by his actions and then frowned. Had he foregotten the time at the beach before with the others? She sighed and her shoulders fell. Colette shook her head. "I-I'll catch you later," she said and then began to run back to her place.
