Blaren got the order made and proceded to make a delivery on behalf of the feed merchant who he knows fairly well. An old lady that lives closer to the castle down some damp dark side street that feeds the birds; is waiting on some seed from the feed market. So he figured he'd get that done then perhaps watch some entertainment that's going on in the castle court yard there after.
He knocked on the door frame and leaned in, the old lady sitting by the fire with a blanket over her lap. "Blaren, my boy; have you got my seed today. I've been waiting to feed my birds, good to see you lad - anything interesting happen lately?" he entered and put the bag of seed next to her. "Oh nothing really exciting, just the usual stuff, how's your birds, ma'am?" The old lady inspected the seed, "Oh they'll be just fine with this fine stuff; don't lose heart boy, though times may seem dull but exciting things happen every day. Perhaps your time will come soon." He shrugged, "There is hardly anything exciting about farming horses." the old lady gave him a smile, "But riding them for your life is another matter, anyway, I'm sure you have lots of things to do so I won't keep you. Till next time." Blaren gave a bow, "Till next, ma'am." and he stepped out down the road and to the show.

"Thank you Kenyen." Walking a bit ahead, Kida leaned against the retaining wall and looked down on the other garden terraces. As Kenyen joined her, she pointed out a grove of willow tress next to an artificial stream. "Over there. That is where we can hide. There is actually a lot of room under there, and like I said, hardly anyone looks under there. It's perfect." Pushing off the wall, Kida scampered towards the stairs. Once she hit the first few, she turned around to face Kenyen. Her dark brown eyes shone with her glee at the prospect of escaping their lessons for the day, and her face had an almost perpetual grin. "Hey Kenyen.... Race you!" With that and a final parting laugh, Kida raced down the steps towards the grove.

Kenyen gave a double take when Kida started running down the stairs. "Wait, what! Why you...!" Kenyen yelled, as he vaulted over the wall, and tumbled to his feet, getting some freshly fallen leaves stuck to his hair. "You do realise... that I'm not wearing... any shoes right!... Thats hardly fair." Kenyen comented between breaths, while running as fast as he could toward the grove of trees. jumping over a small row of bushes onto the path, Keyen started coming up behind Kida. It was only a little distance before the small wooden bridge that crossed the bead of river stones that lined the artifical stream.

Even though she had mocked Sir Donovan earlier, it was obvious that Kida had been paying attention to his lessons. Waving through the flower beds and easily leaping over small bushes, Kida was well on her way to winning the race. Laughing, she called back to Kenyen as she ran. "Well, it's not my fault that you didn't prepare correctly for the day, now is it?!?"
With her long braid streaming out behind her, Kida started across the small wooden bridge. There were only a few feet between the bridge and the grove, and Kida could see that Kenyen was gaining on her.

"You know if I wanted a work out I would have gone to report in with Sir Donovan" Kenyen remarked, as he caught up behind Kida. Unfortuneately for Kenyen the small oak bridge was only large enough for one person to cross at a time. Finally making it across the bridge, Kenyen spead up and tried to beat Kida in the dead sprint to the grove of Willows. Kenyen flashed a smile as he finally cme even to Kida. "You know... as a respectable daugher... of a noble... you shouldn't be... running around... in a dress like this." Kenyen stated between huffs of air.

Kida giggled as they both made it to the grove at the same time. "hah! Yes you could have, but it wouldn't be nearly as much fun. And I wouldn't have nearly as much fun if I was concerned with what 'respectable noble daughters' do and don't do. " Stopping for a moment to catch her breath, Kida looked Kenyen over once. "heh That was pretty good for someone without shoes." Looking towards the grove, Kida stepped forward and moved some of the low hanging branches out of the way. Just as Kida had promised, there actually was quite a bit of room underneath the willows. 7 or 8 willows made up the glade and the small stream ran through one corner of the glade. The center of the glade was actually open to the sky, and there was a small stone bench sitting directly in the center. Kida immediately sat down on the bench, closed her eyes, and began to soak up the sunlight that was poring down through the trees. Her light brown skin seemed to almost glow in the light, and she sighed once with pleasure. Opening one eye and looking at Kenyen, Kida motioned to the empty part of the bench. "Wanna sit?"

"Hmm, I'm suprised that I never knew that this place existed." Kenyen wandered around the glen looking at all of the trees. Kenyen looked at Kida, and smiled don't mind if I do. Kenyen wandered over toward the bench, and then fell backwards onto the grass, with his arms outstreched. "I can see why you would come here. there does seem to be a kind of surreal peace to this place." Kenyen sighed, as the sun warmed his face, and the grass itched his arms.
Almost as if fate had been waiting for that very comment the Gardens rang with a fanfair of trumpeting, rising over the walls form the public courtyard of the castle. Kenyens eyes snapped open, "s**t!" rocking himslef back onto his feet, Kenyen took of back towards the Mages tower. "I completely forgot! I have to get down there! Sorry. See you later!"

Closing her eyes once more as Kenyen wandered around the glen, Kida continued to soak up the sun. Nodding at his assessment, Kida opened her mouth to speak; however, the fanfare interrupted what she was going to say. As Kenyen races off, Kida waved half heartedly. She then frowned slightly. aww man.... I should be a good friend and go see what is going on... But it is warm here... and I might be forced to go back to lessons... aww... Shaking her head, Kida bounced up and smiled a bit self mockingly. ah well... at least whatever he is up to is garenteed to be interesting... With that Kida ran out of the glade and called out to Kenyen. "Wait Kenyen!! What are you doing, and what about your shoes!?!"

By this point kenyen could barely make out the fact that Kida was even saying anything. Without stopping sto see what kida was saying Kenyen wove his way through the garden, and up the stairs to towards the kitchens. Slamming his way though the door, Kenyen almost knocked one of the maids over as he ran like a mad man.
Anu looked up as Kenyen charrged past, and gave him a knowing smile. "I was wondering how long it was going to take you to remember." Anu remarked just loud enough for Kenyen to hear.
"Damn it you knew this whole time didn't you?" Kenyen spead up the stairs. Anu just laughed after him.

...Crap.. he can't hear me.... hm... I shouldn't use this... but Mistress Asandra did tell me to practice controlling them... With a grin, Kida stopped where she was and opened the palm of her head. Closing her eyes and breathing in deeply, the young girl concentrated. A slight glow could be seen coming from her right wrist, but the sleeves of her dress obscured the view of whatever was actually producing the slight light. A tiny whirlwind slowly formed in the palm of her hand, and violet eyes peaked out from the center of it. Opening her own eyes, Kida spoke quite to the sylph she had summoned. "Follow him and tell me what he does." The little whirlwind emitted a strange whistling sound and then speed off in to the sky to find Kenyen. As it left, Kida grinned and sped of to the kitchens. Bursting through the door, she called for the head cook happily. "Anu!! Anu! Where did Kenyen go?" Finding Anu herself, Kida leaned on a table near her. "Better yet, what is it he has to do? You would know what it is because you know everything Ms. Anu." Batting her eyes at the other woman, Kida's grin grew.

Kenyen bolted out into the hallway, and saw a youn page pacing with worry in front of his door. As soon as the page noticed Kenyen, he flipped out. "Where have you been?! Sir Donovan's going to have my hide! You were supposed to be at the tournament before it started! Do you have any clue how lucky you are that your events don't come until this afternoon?!" THe Page ranted as Kenyen came crashing past him and slammed the door to his room.
"You think I don't already reailize that?!" Kenyen shouted through the door, as he yanked off his clothes, and changed into his sparing clothes. Consisting of though leather pants a heavy long sleave shirt, with boots and bracers to match the sparing uniforms were ment to make one as comfortable s possible with armor on. Once more grabbing his belt and swinging it closed about his waist. Kenyen Charged back out of his room grabbing his banner off of the shelf by his door. Kenyen turned back to the young page for one moment, "I have to get down there, please grab my light armor, and my gear from the smith, and meet me near the arena!" The page took off in the other direction at Kenyens request, and Kenyen headed down the main stairs toward the courtyard. How could he have possably forgotten that today he..."
"...Is competeing in part of the young nobles tournament. Every few years some of the local lords get their younger sons together to compete. It's just like most tournaments, but it's not as big, and only a few of the actual nobles even show up." Anu explained the days event to Kida. "I think Kenyen is supposed to be in both the dual arms contest, and the quarter staff event."

Kida's eyes grew wide and she tore out of the kitchen before Anu could finish the last sentence. Trying her best to smooth her unruly hair as she rank, the young woman's thoughts raced franticly. .. CRAP!!! I can't believe I forgot today was the tournament!... crap, crap, crap!... I was supposed to have met up with William ages ago.... oh no... I hope he didn't bring father with him... Running in to the courtyard, Kida looked around franticly. However, the one she was searching for found her before she could spot him.
"KIDA!" Grinning from ear to ear, a young man that looked to be in his mid twenties spun Kida around and enveloped her in a great bear hug. About 5'10, the young man was stocky and he moved as if the armor he wore weighed nothing. Curly black hair fell only a bit past his ears, and his bright hazel eyes gazed down at Kida happily. Stepping back, he surveyed the young woman critically, although a happy gleam still shone in his eye. "Well now. So this is the image of you I shall take back to your father, hmm? You all mussed up, looking like you just got out of bed and forgetting your appointments? I see, you are just too important to come and greet your own flesh and blood hmmmm?" Laughing, Kida shoved the larger man slightly and shook her head. "Oh please don't tell father that Will! I did forget, but I was working! I did mean to come and greet you cousin, I just got... wrapped up in my duties." Grinning, the young man hugged Kida a bit more gently this time. "Aww come on now Kida, you know I am just kidding. I wouldn't tell Uncle that, beside, I made sure that i could come alone for your sake. Hehe I know you too well. But it is good to see you."

Marla strolled through the crowd, passing by a fruit vendor and pocketing a ripe apple. Nobody noticed the quick hands of the girl as she continued on her way, snagging a coin purse here and there, along with some more items from the market shops. With professionally groomed ruby curls that hung around her shoulders, wearing a well-made emerald gown with white trim and a pair of black leather dress boots, she looked every part the well-mannered courtier's daughter. She carried a small sack at her side, two loaves of bread that she'd actually bought poking out of the top, which she used to hold the knicked items. The sound of trumpets caught her attention and she smiled, her next destination already chosen for her.
"The young nobles tournament, what a lovely place to spend the afternoon," she said aloud, walking with a smile through the crowd.
