What's a crystal mouthpiece? Is it like a certain brand?

Like plastic-crystal? I think it sounds worse, but I don't actually play trumpet. They could be useful for the marching field when it's cold or if you have a silver allergy and can't afford to gold-plate your mouthpiece though!
Our Jazz director got on one of my trumpety friends for playing on a plastic mouthpiece in 8th grade because of his allergy. And typically...plastic just sounds worse than wood or metal for any instrument.

In Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and the Renaissance...
THEY MAKE CRYSTAL MOUTHPIECES?!?! eek
... In Switzerland they had brotherly love, they had five hundred years of democracy and peace, what did they produce? The cuckoo clock.
