What techniques do you use to make your art different from the rest? How do you get it to look super cool? What secrets are you willing to share with us to help the less experienced open their creative mind and get new ideas? Tell us here.

one tip: if you use for the basic idea a tutorial.. dont leave it with that - do more ( exclaim ) - play around with the layer attributes for example. add more and better effects to this wink to sell or use "tutorial graphics" isnt awesome mostly its boring because everybody can do this.

do it your way.

1) clean the picture!
- copy you layer then set to screen mode, then desaturate that layer

2)use filters as much as possible!
-lens flare and clouds are a good way to start

that's all i can think right now!

Try not to use the paint bucket option (learnt the hard way). Everything is always done better with time.

I dunno xp

But always always always take your time. Its really important, no matter what you are doing.

And I almost never use brushes, but I guess thats because Im working mainly with montages and stuff like that in school. But I wouldnt bash filters. They can really be the good finishing touch sometimes, especially the blurs, but you just cannot be reliant on them.

Text to go before each message
I find that being yourself and figuring out what you like for yourself is the best way. Take time and study what each item does and whether you liked the result for that particular situation or not. Study tutorials, but not follow them exactly can produce an effect that's worthwhile. Mix things up and fiddle around.

I agree on bthe taking your time thing, I should actually be giving myself this advice as I'm super impatient and quick lol. But I'm much happier with the outcome of my art when I take mmy time.
