Even if he was scratched in his fight with Lee it wasn't the same kind of blood shed as his fight with Sasuke. He could feel the warmth of his fresh blood. It's a little more shocking than a small cut (if he was even cut)

I dont think thats blood.I think its globs of sand with Lee's blood in it.I dunno.But I highly doubt its really Gaaras blood.

lol..... he didnt bleed when he got teh love on his forhead,,,, thats sand......... razz and  ????? its a mixture of red and black, so u cant tell if its blood or shell

There's sand coming out, it's the sand armour that got hit, and besides, I don't think that there's sand in his blood, that would made a sand clot in his veins... and that wouldn't be good. ;;>_>

Remember the scene after Lee slammed Gaara into the ground with the lotus?
the armour cracks, revealing that he wasn't really hit.
He appears from within the sand, covering himself with it, thus creating a new layer of the sand armour. He wasn't hurt there, so we can assume that he wasn't bleeding.

Gaara did bleed when the sand engraved the kanji love symbol into his forehead. It wasn't that much, though and I guess Gaara was too busy losing himself to notice.

So far I think the only time Gaara actually bled was in his fight with Sasuke. When Gaara engraved the symbol "love" on his for head I believe It was Yashamaru's blood he used.
( All that was left of Yashamaru was a bloody mess, and it was Yashamaru who first taught Gaara about the pain of love. So It would make sense to me that he would use Yashamaru's blood. The blood of the person he felt truly ever loved him.)
