Though Hallie had backed up, she was still staring at him, almost as if she wished her eyes could burn holes straight through his body. Even one of her canine fangs were poking out from her lips, a silent threat to him that if he did anything wrong to hurt Eli, she'd be on in him in half an instant.
Yet her concentration was broken as Darius rose to his paws and moved himself over to her. That dumb grin was still plastered on his face, but his eyes seemed softer, as if the amusement was fading for him. It calmed her slightly, but she knew it must all be a game. He seemed to be willing to do anything just to get so much as a flutter of eyelashes from a pretty female. She was flattered that he thought her pretty, but she wished he had more heart.
Growling low at him, warning him to stay away, Darius folded his ears back and glared. "I haven't done anything."
Not yet.
Eli heard the low growl from her aunt, and yelped, tucking her tail and hiding behind Leith. She didn't know who was being growled at, but she wished all anger would be turned away from her. She hadn't done anything wrong, had she? Nono.. Leith had said it was the snow's fault, and had demonstrated much to his own humility. It had caused her to smile, and she instantly felt attached to him. She had a new friend!
Hallie smiled slightly, turning her attention away from Dar. Leith was a real gentleman, and all of her tension and aggression towards him completely faded. Darius, however, still had a long way to go before he earned her trust.
Eli wiggled, seeing the smile on her aunt's face. Approval! "Bad snow!" she spat at the white powder beneath them, smiling at Leith. He understood! Wiggling, she pounced on him, her tail running a mile a minute. She howled her excitement, then leaped off of him.
"Tag!"

Even to the white and gold swirled male, the grow given did not go unnoticed. As Eli seemed to hide behind him, Leith looked towards his own flesh and blood, Darius, with a slightly puzzled expression. If only he could speak to his brothers mind! Knitting his brows, the adolescent sighed.
If you could only watch and learn, bro, he thought but suddenly was distracted.
A broad grin plastered upon his maw as he nodded at the brown wolfess. "Yeah! The snow should be curtious to any young woman but at least get it's kicks and trip a guy just to spare any wolfess the pain." Unable to contain his excitement and thrill, Leith was caught off guard and tumbled back into the depths of the snow as the energetic female, Eli, toppled upon him with pure delight.
The game was back on!
"Okay then! I'll get you!" He exclaimed with a bit of howling, tail cutting through the air with fast wags side to side. How he loved to play!
Staggering up from the snow, Leith leapt onto all paws and began chasing the brown female. Glancing back momentarily, he looked towards Hallie and Darius. Why were they sitting out? They could have fun too!
"Come on and join the fun you two!"

Darius had been a bit taken aback at the growl. What had he done besides keep to himself and grin at her relative's obvious lack of brain cells? Had he known that Hallie was a seer, he might have gotten a clue as to why she was mad exactly. Reading other's minds did not always end up being amusing or satisfactory. Sometimes it left one with a great anger welling up inside.
"Chill, Hallie," he mumbled, sitting himself beside her. There was something in his voice that intrigued her, and she attempted to figure it out by reading his mind. But nothing came. She looked at him in surprise. Was he speaking in a genuine tone, instead of that fake one he always used to 'woo' females? Frustrated that she couldn't figure it out, not even with her powers, she grunted but remained silent.
Eli glanced at her aunt momentarily, seeing her confusion on her face. She stopped in her games, though she made sure not to trip in the snow again. Turning her gaze to Leith, she frowned, her own confusion reflected on her face.
"Auntie--"
"We're going, Eli." The brown female nearly balked. She didn't want to leave! She was going to play tag with Leith and..
"You can play with Leith later, we're going now," she growled, although her anger was not directed at her niece. "Come, Eli," she commanded, and the other female dared not to disobey.
"Bye, friend-Leith," she said sadly, following her aunt as they made their exit.
Darius huffed. "Good riddance."

Stumbling forwards but halting as Eli seemed to divert her attention towards Hallie, Leith yeilded but slided slightly upon his paws. The white and gold swirled male raised an eyebrow curiously as the same bewilderment seemed to cross over the males maw. Did he do something wrong?
Glancing to where both Hallie and Darius stood like statues, Leith frowned and flicked his ears. "Tension," he dryly remarked, low with a hushed voice with sadness trailing.
Whining softly as the orders were given by the natural pelted wolfess, the adolescent let his ears fall against his skull as his green and blue eyes grew soft. He was having so much fun! And Eli certainly was a quick one to try and catch! But the real question was trying to decipher what exactly had made Hallie want to leave and drag Eli with her. That wasn't any of Leiths business but, whatever the reason, he hoped it could be mended.
"Bye Eli, Bye Hallie," he called out with a sincere howl. "Let's play again, okay El?"
As the two departed away, Leith furrowed his brows and began padding towards his brother. "Darius, dude, you okay? You seem angry..."

With the females gone, Darius let out a full-on snarl. Who did Hallie think she was? She carried herself as if she was better than him, smarter and prettier. Well, he admitted that she was rather beautiful, but that wasn't the point. She had pissed him off, and he hadn't even done anything to her. It was ridiculous.
"Yeah, I'm mad," he snapped at his brother, obviously on the edge. "That Hallie has got some nerve. And what is she here for anyways, and with that other girl? They don't even live here." He huffed, glaring at the spot where both females had disappeared, as if looking there long enough would do anything to help him.
"I'm going home."
Without waiting for an answer from his brother, he immediately rose to his paws and whirled around, stamping off back towards the den.
