I know I just posted in this topic but something just happend that made me think of this guild/topic!
I was just at borders and I was looking at a book, I asked my mom if I could have it (( I am a poor person and she usualy says "yes" )). She said "no" because it was too expensive. so I went to the computer to check the database for the paperback version since those are always cheeper and one of the people who works there came up to me and asked me if I needed anything, I told her "no" and she looked at what book I was looking for. She recommended a whole two series to me! We got talking about them and other books, she was about as obssessed as me! and with the same books too! Both of us had read about 20 or so of the same books, if not more! I swear the two of us could have gone talking all day, but my sister interupted us. emo

When I was younger, I typically felt sort of ill at ease when I was around another bibliophile. Reading was always the one thing that I had when I was younger, and I always felt that if another person was the same (maybe even MORE of a reader), it would take away from what made me special. But now, when I met a fellow book lover, we usual end up sitting down somewhere and talking each others ears off.

At my public library, I've volunteered much of my summer time to help out the librarians there... and there is one lady in particular, who happens to be my supervisor. She signs the hours I work and basically tells me what I can do for the day. Well, my first day, she was running me all over the library, telling me what I had to remember and what she would like me to do. Then at the end of it, she asked if I had questions. The conversation went from I.C. to completely O.O.C and we both spent at least five or so minutes talking about a very good used book store and how we both were pretty O.C.D about keeping books in order. It was the best thing that's happened to me with a stranger. X3

I have several very good friends who are bibliophiles, but it is really only natural. We're all in most or all of our school's gifted or advanced programs. it makes me all warm and fuzzy inside, because even if we don't like the same books, there's always at least one we have in common. and even then, that means that they're not just those stupid people who will read anything or only read what is popular. i'm the type who will go out and search the shelves of my local (and not-so-local) library for anything that sounds or looks interesting, not just what I've already read, though I do that too. I really hope that when I get older, I'll be able to meet other bibliophiles. I am trying to become a high school English teacher, so the chances are good. In my spare time, I'm writing a book that I hope to publish.
