It seemed like she wanted to call him lord, that was interesting, Katanak really hadn't met anyone that acted like this. Though he had to admit, it was rather nice. So he didn't say anything further on it. "Keeping your heart close is a good thing my dear, you can keep it safe, many a time I have come across those who had their hearts broken, its best to be cautious when your heart plays a role in some situation," he said with a nod and a flick of his tail.

Yes, matters with your heart were strange, Katana'k would always be careful...stupid brother, stupid feud, he'd have to find his brother soon.

"I know few who haven't suffered some sort of heartache...my mothers..." Once again, Asherah forgot that most creatures had but one mother and used the plural term. But she had had two and decided not to 'correct' herself. And she was proud of the fact, it always made her smile, which she did now. Perhaps he could tell she was proud? She had to wonder.

"My mothers are the only pair I can think of where there was no heartache until one passed away. But perhaps I have only known unlucky pairs."

Katana'k watched her speak, two mothers? Now that was interesting. Katana'k would've been happy if his only mother hadn't disappeared like she did, if he had had a real family when he was a cub. He sighed, some things he could only muse about. "I'm sorry for that loss...but perhaps you are true. There are unlucky couples, and lucky ones, surely you will come across lucky couples...though luck usually has nothing to do with heart relationships..."

Perhaps it was fate...or destiny.

Katana'k bet his brother could give a whole speech on that.

"Perhaps. But having not experianced anything beyond some passive love for friends and family, I can't really draw rock-solid conclusions from first hand experiance."

Asherah was a firm believer in experiance giving weight to knowlege. She was a dreamer, it was true, but she never trusted what information she got from others unless it matched with that she'd known herself. Like when a cheetah had claimed he'd come to the area on a floating island. Land doesn't float and so she hadn't believed him.

"Have you ever been in love, Katana'k?"

Katana'k huffed and peered away, glowing eyes settling upon some invisible figure in the distance, "No...me, falling in love...that I doubt would happen to me...my brother, he looks on the brighter side of things, in anyone who loves one another being together...I though about it once, but I guess, that I fear if I ever do fall in love, it would be one who would fade away from me as time passed on, and I would never see again."

He was talking about mortals...his brother always said mortals and gods could be together no matter what.

"Though I cannot say for sure, anything can happen in life I suppose..."

Who would love me anyway?

"I suppose, since you're a god and would outlive them if they weren't divine too, it'd be very difficult to see someone you loved age and fade away. Maybe the happiness of being with them would outweigh that pain...but I can't really imagine..."

Asherah sighed and bowed her head to the seemingly upset god. She hadn't thought before she'd asked such a question of him. She hadn't meant to cause him any grief, after all.

"Sorry. I should not have pried nor wondered aloud. I fear falling in love because I cannot see myself finding someone who'd put up with my moods. I'm as changable as the weather, you see."

Katana'k turned to face her again and shook his head, his black mane falling into his view, "Do not worry, its life to be curious, just my brother, he doesn't understand my view on the matter of love..." he peered at ehr when she said she may never fall in love.

He doubted it.

"I doubt that you will not find someone for you, if swinging moods define our fate, then I am doomed along with you, I fear that sometimes my anger may get the best of me, from my father I think, but I'm not sure..." he wasn't sure, he hadn't found his father yet. He would though, oh he would.

"You seem very fond of your brother; you're close?" Asherah had smiled at the idea that the unpredictable nature wasn't so bad - that he knew what it was to have one too. But all the same, she grasped the chance to turn the conversation away from romantic love and all it's heartache.

"Fond of him?" Katana'k shook his head with a huff, his eyes narrowing at such an idea, "I despise my brother, and his views of which he wishes to use upon me, we are nothing alike, we have a bit of a feud between us, but so it goes I suppose...I will find him one day though..." he said, looking away to the direction he last sensed his brother in. "and end it..."

Oh, he would be sure to find him again, he was sure of it.

"Ah, I got the wrong idea...you mentioned him enough that I thought it was fondness - I've always known lions who forget hated ones existance. Leave them in the past." Thoughts of red and white fur came to mind, and a little den not too far from the one she was born and raised in. Leave them in the past, though she was fond of them, they were not hated. The memory was banished.

"We were once close, but everything changed so quickly, things like that sort seem to occur though, there is nothing I can do to stop it however..." perhaps it might be best to leave things in the past, certain things. Though the feud he had with his brother he could not push away, Katana'k blamed his brother for the disappearance of his mother, the lack of their father when they were young. Though some things could not be avoided, the blame was still put upon his brother no doubt.

"It sounds like something terrible happened?" All at once, she seemed as curious as a cub, ears flicking forward and a concerned littel frown on her face. Yet another sad story? But he was a god!

(Sorry for not replying sooner and for the rubbish mini post >.<' )

Katana'k shrugged a bit, "Terrible? Now I look at it differently, but as a cub, it was...strange, to say the least, just, things change, as I've said, things always change, sometimes in ways we think aren't possible." Like everything we know could be taken away he mused in his mind. He shook his head though, "Though too many sad stories of one such as myself may put a downer on this day, don't you think?"

Though this day, that day, it was growing shorter each moment. He'd have to go off and find his brother soon enough. He flicked his tail in annoyance of the truth, why did things such as these have to end? Have to change? "Seems the day rolls on, and grows short with the sunlight, and I still have a brother to find, tell me Asherah, may we meet again one day?"

He'd at least like to catch up with her someday...if she allowed.

(no worries about it luff <3)

"It'd be a pleasure to see you again, my lord..." A small bow of the head - though just as she was getting curious, tthey were going to part ways! How typical!

"I'd better get back to my companion. We'll be on the move again soon" Asherah lifted her head once more and smiled, radiant at the prospect of wandering. Their journey was an adventure...even if she didn't get to run as much as she wanted to.

"Good luck with your search Katana'k. Farewell." She started off on her way.

"It would be my pleasure to see you again my dear, and I hope your travels are grand," He unfolded his wings from his back, stretched them a bit and took a few steps to the side, watching Asherah with his white glowing eyes. Yes, it'd be nice to catch up with her again, exchange stories, hear of her travels.

Yes, that'd be very nice.

"Thank you Asherah, until we meet again," he bowed his head to her, the silver ring on his tail made a slight jingle as he did so, he watched her begin to set off, and he did the same. With a few flaps of his large black wings, he was soon up, soaring into the sky, looking at her figure below, yes, till we meet again with that last thought, he was off through the clouds, heading towards an area that was calling him.

Who knew what the future would hold.
