I just started a class on this today.

It's rather interesting and calming to make. It doesn't take much mind power and it's something that you can do and sort of space out while doing.

We're just doing the basics as of now, but later on we'll do more complicated stuff. mrgreen

So you actually make paper? Out of recycled paper, or something else?

What about papyrus? smile

Oooo be sure to post pictures of your work when it's finished. I'll be more than interested to see the process/the pieces 3nodding

By the way, feels so weird to be back on computer... and the guild has certainly been quiet sweatdrop

paper making sounds very appealing, for any of us goddesses a persuit that calms and helps you to zone out is always a bonus! Especially if you have something beautiful to show as an end result.
i love looking at/touching handmade paper, but i'd be sort of afraid to use it and spoil it!
a few years back i bought my Nan a photo album that was made of handmade paper, there are petals and leaves within the sheets, it's lovely whee

i had a swift look on Google and making paper looks fun( and maybe a little messy but that adds to the fun blaugh )and pretty easy with only a few items needed 3nodding

On that note, I KNEW I missed something when I was commenting on paper making.

Has anyone read "The Time Traveler's Wife"? blaugh Lovely book, and the female main character is heavily into paper arts.

It IS very calming to make.

I had considered not taking the class because it's at 8:30 and three hours long (and I am NOT a morning person by any means). It ended up being a great class to have in the morning. whee

That does sounds like a great class to take! I remember having made paper once or twice when I was a kid in Girl Scouts. It was wicked messy but a ton of fun!

When I was younger I had a paper making kit. You take ripped up pieces of paper and mix them with water until it's like a pulp. Then you use a screen type thing to gather some of the pulp on and strain it. Then you let it dry in the sun.

I suppose it was more of a paper recycling kit.

You can make paper by recycling stuff just as you can make paper out of newer pulp.

I found it very interesting to see all the types of paper we could make depending on the materials that we used. Like, there was some paper we made out of cotton, come out of rice, and others.
