I've finally decided to do Yoruichi Shihouin from Bleach as my cosplay, but I don't even know how to start constructing it. Here is a picture of her.

I'm sorry I don't have many pictures of her, I've been having trouble trying to find good pictures of her. sweatdrop If anyone has better pictures of her, please send me some. Also, I would like to combine the two costumes, wearing the orange jacket over the black top. If anyone can suggest what materials to use and how to construct it, I would greatly appreciate it. I'm still a bit new to the sewing thing.

I'm supposing you want to make the outifit not just purchase it? ^_^
If you get too stressed you can always resort to that option.

Not as much spandex as tight fitting exorcise clothing. Like a leotard in black that you could cut to your liking and use fabric paint for the butterfly marks from suzumebachi (or even an iron on pattern). It's easier when you don't have to make everything, so if you check athletic stores they might have similar fabrics and suchs.

Make sure it breathes. >.>

I have a friend who will probably be doing this cosplay soon. If you are especially busty or want to reman modest, I'd recomend going with the orange jacket. It's also easier to make than all that fitted stuff.

For the legs, legwarmmers as wel as for the arms (but you will need to adjust them). And light purple ribbons to wrap around your arms. You might have to possibly sew some of them on, especially around the top.

hair- long dark purple hair with bangs. Don't forget hairspray

Top, find an eastern chinese pattern and sew with a lightweight material.

black tanktoplike thingee for the undershirt. And you will possibly have to make the butterfly patten yourself and sew it on.

you can use black leggings for the pants...
i dont think the legwarmers would be that hard either.. just get the pale color fabric you need sew it so that it can go around your leg, and put elastic on the top and bottom so it stays on you legs.. hope that is helpful..
