my father plays guitar really well and when i go to visit him we put on a concert for a HUGE neighborhood. I was using his bass to play a song he had written and im a beginner so there where no chords or anything. and the last note (i dont use a pick) was A on the G string... i played a B flat cuz i wasnt used to the bass i was using and it is so amazing how much a half step can mess up a song. but the worst part was when i played it my dad and bro looked at me and yelled "A u dork" so anyone who knew anything about music knew that i didnt play the right note ....... sweatdrop sweatdrop sweatdrop sweatdrop sweatdrop sweatdrop

I got a good one this time we were playing at this place called the ponderosa, and My nice big amp had blown a tube, and I had nothing to work with but a crapy beringer 15 watt. And we had almost no soud at all out side of our own gears so bassicly I micked the amp and sounded shitty all night long, half way though our set the singer sliped and twisted his ankle, so we had to play with out him and sound more shitty, then the pesta resistance I broke two strings and was unable to play the proper notes for our last two songs. I had just broken a few other strings that day and gone to role over batoven to get some new ones, damn they just had to be the same strings as befor too. Ugh. Oh and about my first story, well I'm sure that most people loved the show, but I didn't damn you hot weather, and lazy me. I can't tell you how friggen embarassing it was to stand up there with nothing to cover me up, and no support either. wah! gonk

Escaflowne_11 [.ZaKid.] kissthefuture My boyfriend went on tour one time.... and forgot his bass!! haha i still dont know to this day how he actually managed to leave it at home. Anyway he got to the venue whish was about 2 hours drive away and realised he hadnt got it, so just went to a local music shop and bought himself a new one. He got a 4 string (although he plays 6) but he had been after getting one anyway because he gives bass lessons and sometimes the people get confused when he shows them what to play with a 6 string. He also blew his amp on that tour aswell... wasnt very lucky sweatdrop Not Bass related, but my Drummer left all his cymbals (7-8 of them) About an hour away, with us playing in an hour. I wasn't riding with him, but supposedly he did a solid 100 MPH all the way home. Im gonna guess he didnt make it on time. Doing the math on that... Its impossible to do 2 hours of a trip in 1 hour with a car... Unless you have some sort of passage from God himself... But good luck without that! Well, the Speed Limit was 60 about the whole way. So he wasn't really late, but we had to convince the band before us to play quite a few extra songs. Regardless, no one stuck around to hear us play, anyway. No one here likes punk music.

Yeah. You got a long ways to go kid. If your worst experiance was playing a note a half step off, then you must really be a beginner at bass. Thats almost acceptable at most venues if you can get over the fact that you messed up. Most people dont care as long as you arn't messing up all the time!
