hello,
i dont know how many here out of school so i ask you in this way: do you want a creative job after you finished your school time? which one is it and do you be sure that you will resive your personal goal - does it matter what it "costs"?
tell me, us, something about your plans in future or now.

I am in my last year of high school now. Graduating this year YAY! After this I plan to take a year off, then go to college majoring in graphics design and maybe minor in fashion design.

G'luck Self! I just graduated from college myself so here's wishing you the best!
I scored a BA in English and currently am doing temp jobs purely for the money to keep eating and paying bills. I want to be a professional writer so very bad - but I'd rather not be a homeless starving artist more. I applaud anyone with the dedication to go after their goals no matter the cost but for me personally, the cost is just to high. Eventually I know I'll get there, get published, oust Stephen King, etc, but until that acceptance phone call comes I honestly think it's better to hold a day job.

I have a promise to fulfill. I promise my late grandma that I would be a doctor for her.
But my real passion is art. I really can't nuture it because I'm too focus on my academics. This is my last year of high school too! (chea! c/o 07' cool ) Although I'm fully prepared for college (already w/ my BA, ready to start my major), I have accomplish almost nothing as far as my art is concern. It will be nothing more than a hobby for me. cry

im a junior in high school and I really dont have a choice but the choice i have given ive allways wanted to take, Im going to Join the Navy and become a seabee((Like my Pa)) and work in construction and while im there im going to collage to train to be a Master Technician for cars((I love cars and i hear they make mad bank)) and when i retire ill probally work for some big cmpany like BMW or something....Of corse i have a fall back plan just in case things dont go according to plan, ill become a Cop cuz im allready in the explores group((Its like junior cop/S.W.A.T, its aswome))and maby work my way up to Detective or S.W.A.T.
On the side i DJ, make techno music, play with photoshop, pratice martial arts with my friends, and Le parkour((Google it if you dont know)) and maby i can make a carrier out of one of these but i dought it

mmm I'm in second year at uni, was in chem... now I hate it biggrin I think I will declare a major in computer science... My university has a graphical option that I would love and I think it will be useful... but I doubt I'll be a straight designer... lol not artsy enough unfortunately >< much more program, scien oriented I'm afraid.. kinda have to be for comp sci.. lol too many math courses!
mmm I feel old now :p

I've would love to go to The Art Institute Of Portland, and take their graphic design course, but I have a bad habit of putting things off I need to really work on not doing that.

Malkior_X i am willing, but what do u mean?? it's summer vacation in my country, i can spend time making creative things. it's just a hobby for me, even though i always make programs, slideshows, website layouts at school using photoshop.

I'm just going into high school next year.
But, I'm going to an art school in guess what field...digital arts.
So it's basically assumed that I will get some sort of job in that field.
