I know aren't they?

As for the LS I got invited to one but for some reason every time these people said something it made me feel left out cause they were all real life friends. sweatdrop

And I finally made it to 8 after being killed by so many "even" matches. I don't think I'll ever find a good I guess here they are called static party, instead or perma or maybe I'm just the only one in the history of MMOs that uses that term?

Oh well another day another level I guess but it would be great if I could find a LS or at least some one to hang out with I don't want to get bored of FFXI. Lack of people to interact with is why I left almost every MMO I've joined and that list is a long one.

And now I'm ranting like I just drank a half gallon of coffee which I actually did so I'll shut up now. xp

Edit: Just a little side note I need some one to explain what all these things people say mean like HNMLS and other stuff cause every time I read a post with all that junk I get confused as hell.

Yer even matches are not really even matches lol - an even match mob means that its the same level as you are, but mobs tend to be stronger than the average pc for some reason ;_; Killing DCs or even EPs faster usually makes better exp then spending ages fighting one EM and probably dying anyway xD

Lol quite possibly I'm not sure xD but they're definitely called Statics by the FFXI community

There are lots of short hands you'll get used to them all eventually, if you come across any new ones just ask^^
HNMLS is a combination of HNM (huge?hiddeuos?hard? notorious monster) and LS (linkshell) and is basically a linkshell for high level people (usually lvl70+) where they all team up to fight the hardest mobs in the game >:3 This is sometimes called an "endgame linkshell".

lol er - i don't think I can remember them all just like that xD

I'm sure you figured out pt, exp, ep, dc, em, vt, it
then there's SC (Skill Chain) and MB (Magic Burst) - since you're a blm, by the time you hit 30 you will probably know more than me about these two razz

Then there's all the stats (oh you might like to know about these - I'll give you a run down^^)

STR (strength) - related in a really complicated way to att (attack) which i can't be bothered to explain right now - basically, melee damage
VIT (vitality) - related in a really complicated way to def (defence) which i also can't be bothered to explain right now - basically, melee defence
N.B. While you can see most of your stats on your profile page you will need to look at your equipment page to see att and def. Other stats like acc, enmity, evasion, etc, are completely hidden.
DEX (dexterity) - related to acc (accuracy)
AGI (agility) - Affection Evasion, Parrying, Shield blocking and that kinda thing
MND (mind) - Affects white magic and also Interruption Rates
INT (intelligence) - Affects black magic
CHR (charisma) - Affects -killer effects (only certain jobs and equipments have these) and also affects charm for BSTs, and affects BRD songs.

TP stands for Tactics Points - getting your TP to 100% allows you to perform a WS (weapon skill). You get tp when you attack, and when you take damage. Spells will not give you tp. TP caps at 300%, but it is usually more effective to use WSs at 100% rather than waiting for 300%.

CoP, ZM and ToAU refer to the three expansion packs and their related missions.

BCNM and KSNM stand for Burning Circle Notorious Monster and Kindred Seal Notorious Monster respectively. These are special boss fights you can enter to win some good drops. You have to pay to enter with Beastmen Seals and Kindred Seals so you should save them if you find them.

Some weird people say "SJ" to mean "Subjob" but most people use the term "Sub". You can quest to get a Subjob at lvl18.
Equally people say "Main" to mean your favourite or highest job. i.e. what's your main? pld.

HP means Home Point.

You'll hear people shouting about Tele- Mea, Holla or Dem quite a lot razz
Mea Holla and Dem are 3 "crags" scattered throughout the mainland. If you visit a crag and get a telecrystal from there, it means that you can teleport there whenever you want as long as you can find a whm with the appropriate tele spell (whms get these spells at lvl37). Most whms charge for teleports.
The crag of Mea is the one nearest you, and its that big white temple looking thing on your map of Tahrongi Canyon.

I can't think of any others right now :/

edit oh i forgoet - lfp means Looking for Party. Only weird people say lfg >:3 lol

I think I got the basics for now except macro and one final question.

Where can I go at 10 cause everything now is to low exp. I've been told that it's best to party at this level but where can I find a party like this and where?
