Raven plopped the plastic bag into his lap, grinning. "If you like them that much they're yours." She dug around in the bag, positioned in the shade so as to not attract heat. "I'll just have the blueberries."
Rumkai flapped his wings, hovering over to crash land down onto Alexander's head once again. His coordination was odd from his earlier mishap.
"... He says he wants one," Raven translated, looking sheepish. "I promised him earlier.. d'you mind handing over one? I doubt he can eat the whole thing anyway."

"Of course." Alex peered down, his eyes narrowing as he carefully examined each one of the red-seeded berries in his lap. He sifted through the bag, and after a few moments, fished out a particularly small fruit. It was just as vibrant and juicy-looking as the others, but simply on a smaller scale. He brought it out from the plastic bag and placed it between the two lenses of his goggles, smiling.
"Perfect size for the little guy! We don't want to leave anything behind."
He gazed hungrily back at the package of strawberries, and continued to mercilessly eat at its contents.
The wind began to pick up, sending a slight chill from the air. Clouds swept across the sky, grey in hue.

Raven plucked the small fruit from Alex's fingers, sticking it into her hair without a second thought for better access to Rumkai. She tried her best to drown out his feasting noises-- they were quite squishy sounding.
A low rumble echoed across the darkening sky, and the child gazed at it with a grimace. "... Well... I suppose we don't ave to come up with excuses for being wet," she offered, standing and grabbing the bag. "Maybe we should go. Mom said being in a thunderstorm was dangerous... you think that's true?"

"Yeah. Especially because we're around that pond, and everything. Thankfully we're not too far from the city, eh?" Alex stood up, wiping the excess strawberry juice from his mouth.
"It's not too far, let's get moving."
Lightning slashed through the sky nearby, illuminating the glossy surface of the pond for a split second. The boy jumped, looking frantic, and turned, beckoning for Raven to follow him.

And so, the two made it out of the forest. It had, unfortunately, downpoured onto their already wet selves, much to the displeasement of Rumkai (who was also deathly afraid of the booming thunder; it reminded him of the fish's gurgling stomach.)
But they both made it safely home. ( End? xD;; )
