Started page 692: Tymiko the Pirate Girl ((This'll be fun, then. ^^ Um, if anyone needs to see my taur, you can just click Ty's picture in my signature. All of them are there, except for Natalie, since she hasn't been certed yet. She's in my SS's though.
'Kay...guess I'll start then?))A cervitaur child with a spotted hide and a green and red scarf walked purposely and solemnly through the trees, collecting berries in a small basket woven of river reeds. He went from berry bush to berry bush, collecting the delicious fruits. Unlike other children, however, the kid didn't even sneak one into his mouth. After all, the berries he was bicking weren't meant for him.Just then, a flurry of feathers could be heard overhead, and the child looked up, ears swerving. There, perched amoung the branches, a blue-grey female harpy settled herself, a wreath of holly adorning her feathers as she fluffed them to keep warm.
"Good morning, Silly Spots," she addressed the cervi boy playfully. She seemed no older than him, and yet her mannerisms were much more childish. "Picking berries for breakfast? Rabbits are much more tasty."He winced as she mentioned the rabits, a look of disgust coming over his features and he shuddered. brushing off a feather from his shoulder, he shook his head and frowned at the harpy girl. "That's 'much tastier'," he corrected. "Natalie, the least you can do is call me by name. These berries aren't for me. They're for the young ones, so shut your beak.""You know, we're a lot like young ones ourselves, don't you think?" Natalie inquired thoughtfully, grinning down at the kid with a row of very sharp teeth. "We could probably pass ourselves off as a pair of children if you didn't have to go on acting so...so...mature." She hopped back and forth on the branch, restless. "You're such a dimwit. Harpies don't have beaks! And the young ones might like meat - who knows? What? Are you just a little squeemish, Berwynn? Just a mite?"Waving the harpy away, Berwynn turned around and began to walk away. "I don't have time for this," he murmured. "Why in the world would we want to pass ourselves off as children?! That's ridiculous! And even if you don't have beaks, your kind sure do have birds' brains." He set off at a steady trot, headed for the stream to wash his finds."Now wait just a minute, here - " Natalie cut in, taking off to glide above the boy as he walked. The foiledge was too thick for her to fly, exactly, and hopping was too slow to keep up with the four-legged."And in case you haven't noticed, we cervitaur are sought out for our deer meat by all sorts of predators on the isle, including normal harpies, so just shut up. You know us cervitaur are vegaterians. And there is no way I'm going to feed Iryl any meat. I need something that will keep her mind off candy, because that idiot Matteo and that ignorant Fritzi spoil her too much. Berries are the best thing for growing infant cervis.""Hmm...I wounder how you might taste if I decided to hunt you..." Natalie grumbled, mostly hoping to invoke a reation from Berwynn. All he did was continue washing his berries in the stream.
"You're so BORING!" she screeched finally, startling the pygmie cervi into falling into the cold water. "How could you ever expect Iryl to like you?! I heard she saw you this morning and ran to Fritzi! At least she likes Matteo! You're the worst sort of pygmie ever who forgot how to act like a kid!" She flapped her wings and screeched and made a huge fuss, raining feathers down on the boy and into the stream.
"I'm going to go watch the egg! But unlike you I'm not going to try to mother it. What it needs is a friend!" Taking off, she shouted back, "If all you care about is Iryl's health and well-being, then you should take a tip or two from Fritzi and Matteo! They may not be experienced in these things, but at least Iryl knows they care!" With that, she took off into the forest.Berwynn, gathering up his berries that were slowly floating down-stream, sighed to himself. Perhaps Natalie was right. But he couldn't just ignore everything with Fritzi's 'herd' acting so chaotic. He needed to impose order on them, or they'd grow up to be psycotic, crazed adults with no lives. From what he had already seen of the cowardly Lycoris and the maddened Leila, he knew it was already starting to be a problem. Fritzi, though an adult, would never serve as a proper guardian with his inexperience. So Berwunn felt it was left upon him to sort things out. Tawariell ((ok here I come All I'm using is Tarik though.)) Cautious dark blue hooves moved along the forest floor as the young cervi was lost. His dark brown body shook as he wished he didn't leave his mom and sister. But he did. He shook his dark blueish-brown with darker blue striped hair. His arms were up as if just incase.
The cervi walked forward and not looking caught a hoof in a tree root. with a small cry and a small thud blue hooves got lost beneath the dark brown body as the young cervi laid on the ground. he was hard to see for the sun wasn't able to peek down on him, so he was dark brown laying on a dark brown ground.((Pic of him in my journal underneath Vena's pic)) Tymiko the Pirate Girl (( heart Aww! Vena and Tarik are so CUTE Tawariell! whee Tarik means something like 'morning star', right? I think I used to have a pet I names Tarik once.))As Berwynn replaced the last of the berries in the basket and attempted to shake his drenched fur dry, his ears swerved, catching the sound of an infant's cry.
Curious, Berwynn picked up his reed basket and trotted silently towards the sound, which didn't seem to come from very far away at all.
"Hello? Is someone there" he inquired, peerng through the dense greenery with icy blue eyes. His natural coloring made him blend very well with his surroundings, and he had no fear of being seen unless he wanted to be. Tawariell ((Thanks! whee I looked it up it's Arabic and it means Conqueror)) Tarik lifted his head slowly and looked around he had heard a voice but couldn't see the deer colored taur. "h-hello?" Her looked around with wide eyes, he hoped it wasn't a predator that was after him. He slwoly stood up and tried to see the pygmy taur. But he couldn't see him.Tymiko the Pirate Girl ((Oh! Oops, guess I was mistaken, then. ^^; I think the Tarik I was thinking of was spelled Tariq.))Sensing the child's anxiety at not being able to see him, he hastily stepped out into the open. The infant was a cervitaur as well, and Berwynn hoped this fact would calm the boy. At least he wasn't some predator or a creepy, sharp-toothed harpy like Natalie. "Don't worry. I'm not going to hurt you," the pygmie told Tarik, offering him a hand. "My name's Berwynn."
He frowned, not seeing anyone else around. "What are you doing out here all by yourself? Shouldn't you be with your mother or something?" he asked rather bluntly.

Playtime?Started pg 1010 Vena, child,Tarik, child, Reyamet, infant,Iryl, child, Fisk, child
Neri of Tinros Reyamet wandered through the forest all by his lonesome, with a look of wonder on his smiling face. He had reached a field, he was sure he had been to it with Evi before, that was full of flowers blooming with the new life of Spring. Giggling, the bright blue cub chased after a few butterflies. Tymiko Lying amidst the sea of colorful blossoms that engulfed her, Iryl giggled, plucking at a flower she had picked and letting their petals shower her. As they tickled her nose and eyelashes, her pink-blue ears swerved and she lay still, listening.
The child's favorite game was hide and seek. It might have seemed an odd favorite for such a brightly colored cervi, but to Iryl that only made it all the more challenging. She wasn't all that bad at it either. She was constantly escaping from her guardians, mainly Fritzi and Matteo when they weren't looking. Her expertise lay in her stealth and agility. Even as an infant she had led them on many a hunt.
Now, however, the footsteps she heard weren't of Matteo's or Fritzi's. It wasn't even Lycoris's. No...this one was different. Soft, uncertain, and small, yet quick, as if they were hurried.
Sitting up, little Iryl looked around, peering just over the tops of the foxgloves, blending in with her brilliantly bright pink hair and purple-blue eyes. They scanned the area, searching for signs of a possible new playmate. Neri of Tinros As he chased one of the butterflies, Rey tripped and fell, landing on his face. But a moment later, he was up and chasing again, giggling even harder as he followed another butterfly.
After a few minutes he began to tire, and was about to give up when he finally caught one of the colorful bugs. Cupping his hands over it, he pondered what to do next. He really hadn't thought about what would happen if he actually got one.
Curious to see what it looked like up close, he opened his tiny hands so that he could see the butterfly through a hole. Unprepared for the small size of the bug, it escaped through the hole, and left him staring after it, grinning. "Come back!" he called. "I show Evi!" And with that, he set off after them again. Tawariell ((Mind if I join?)) Dark orange paws moved slowly through the gass that was on teh forest floor. She gazed around with bright blue eyes. Her small frame stood still as she watched the clearing. She could see a small cattaur playing before her. He was chasing a butterfly. And saying something, though she couldn't hear him. All she saw was his mouth moving. He was yelling by the width of his mouth was opening she thought. Her eyes showed the fear of meeting someone new right now, because she was alone, so she hid in a bush and peered out with her bright innocent blue eyes.Dark blue cloven hooves moved fast therough teh forest as the young cervitaur came to the clearing. He saw his friend in flowery bushes and walked over ot her. "Iryl." He spoke her name as he came over to sit by the colorful cervitaur. "How are you?" he asked kindly. In the back of his mind he worried about his deaf 'sister'. He wondered why she hadn't come here yet, though he didn't know she was here and hiding. But his mind quickly changed to the topic of talking with Iryl.Neri of Tinros Reyamet came to a halt as he heard someone speak. A little ways away was a cervi a bit older than himself, seemingly talking to either nothing or the colorful blooms. Smiling, he waved. "Hi! You talk flowers?" Tawariell ((Get Ty here!)) The wolftaur watched with blue eyes from her hiding place. The young cervitaur turned ot see th younger Cattaur. "Why hello there." He spoke kindly. "I'm talking to my friend Iryl." He said and pointed to the brightly colored female cervitaur his age that basically blended in with the flowers. "By the why I'm known as Tarik. Who are you?" He asked kindly, still wondering where his adopted 'sister' was.Tymiko Iryl leaped up, realizing she had been discovered, and as a result appeared slightly put off by Tarik's greeting.
"You found me, Tarik!" she told, trying to act cheerful. "How?" She didn't think he had been trying to find her, but she didn't much like thinking she had lost her touch at being undetectable. Maybe he had seen her when she had sat up. She wasn't small enough to hide completely in the flowers any longer.
"Okay," she answered him. "How 'bout you? Are you good?" Her grammer wasn't exactly perfect yet, but thanks to Matteo, it was improving so that she could converse well enough.
All memory of the pawprints she had heard in the grass evaporated. She was just too easily distractable. Tawariell Tarik looked at his friend with a smile. "I saw you sit up. Plus I know you well enough on how to find you." He smiled and gave her a nice hug. "I'm good. You wanna play?" He asked her with a smile. And looked at Reyamet with a nod telling him he was welcome to join as well. Just then he saw a slight movement form a bush. "Vena?" He called out adn remembered that she couldn't hear him. He searched for her eeyes. Only to have his own green gaze to match up with a bright blue one. He waved his hand calling over the bush.Atthe gesture a smallish child wolftaur came out of the bushes. She padded over with cautious steps. Her bright blue eyes totally stunning compared to her bleak orange colored body. She camed over and had a shy smile on. Her voice was gentle and soft. "Hello Tarik and Iryl." She said their names rmembering who they were. She smiled at Tarik when she nodded telling him she saw him hug Iryl. Then her gaze went to Reyamet. "Who...who are you?" She asked stepping back slightly. Neri of Tinros The cub stuck out his chest proudly and pointed to himself. "Reyamet," he replied, grinning. Looking around, he pointed to each taur so he could make sure he remembered their names from what he had heard. "Iyl, Tark, Vena." He smiled happily, although he had really only said one name correctly. Tawariell The dea taur paid attention to Reyamet's words. "I'ma callin you Rey k?" she said a little more loudly like normal speaking as she smiled. She was calming down a bit and went into a relaxed stance. Though her tail wagged happily her front paw pawed at the ground carefully. She was happy and hated the fact she was deaf.Tarik smiled at Rey, he didn't pronounce his name right but he was only an infant. "Hey Rey." He said using a shorter version of the blue cattaur's name, "I need you to remember this: Vena, she's deaf. She can't hear. So if you want to talk to her you need to be facing her and have her facing you so she can do what she calls 'lip read'. Ok?" He asked making sure that the young taur understood so they could play. Though in his mind he wasn't exactly sure what ' lip reading' was. Tymiko Iryl brightened at Traik's explaination. "Oh." Unexpectedly, he smiled and reached over to hug her, causing her to turn an even brighter pink than her hair. Luckily, her blush fadded before he pulled away.
Noticing Tarik wave a familiar wolftaur cub out from the bush, Iryl waved happily in reply. "Hi, Vena!" she called. "Come to play?"
Blinking as they addressed the cattaur kit, she turned, noticing him for the first time. It was the first she had ever met someone younger than her. She was surprised he could say his name so well. She doubted she could pronounce it. So, instead, she just smiled back. "Hello! Uh, but my name Iryl, not Iyl." Giggling, she reached out, as if to pet his nice, soft fur. His tail was especially enticing.
Following Vena's suggestion, Iryl nodded vigerously. "Me call you Rey too! It's cute." Neri of Tinros Rey nodded to the girls. "Tha's what Evi call me, too." His head tilted from side to side as he tried to understand what Tarik meant by 'deaf'. "No hear?" He paused, obviously thinking hard, then looked to Vena. "Can still play, yes?" Tawariell Vena smiled at Rey. "As long as I can see your face, I can understnad you. But yes, Vena can still play." She backed up so she could aee everyone at once. "What will we play?" She questioned. Her voice still soft but more friendly compared to shy-like. Her wolf tail wagged as she waited to learn what the game would be. Seabhac ((Oh okay, Fisk's heading to the field where Iryl is then. :3 And if you want to continue the Tuaria/Moss one sometime, Ty, then we can do that. And if anyone wants to play with Gabhann, my centaur baby, then I'm up for that too. XD))
After picking -- and eating -- a bunch of blueberries, Fisk was starting to get kind of bored with looking through the bushes. He left Fuega to the berries and went to look for other blue things. Roots and flowers, Wasibru had suggested. Those were the only things he could remember. He went looking for those. But how could he look for roots? That was kind of a problem. They were underground. Oh, he could look for flowers. That was easy.
Ambling through the forest, he started to get some of his old cockiness back. An older taur had asked him for help! A centaur... he'd never heard a whole lot of good about them, but still. She'd seemed all right.
He came to a field and couldn't miss the bright splash of color, but it wasn't flowers. It was a small group of taurs, younger ones, more like him. Hm, well, maybe they'd like to help him find blue things. Smiling he loped over to them. "Hey there!" Tawariell No reaction came form the wolftaur female becuase of her lack of hearing she didn't hear the green wolftaur approaching. Though she was also downwind of him so her nose didn't pick up his scent. She just stood there. Wagging her tail waiting for a game to be picked.Dark ears twitched as the call form another taur reached his ears. He stood up slowly and looked over towards were the voice came from. There stood another taur. Male like himself but looing like Vena. He guessed amale wolftaur. "Hello!" He called back waving his arm> Green eyes watching the taur come closer.Once Tarik had moved to see the taur coming there way did Vena turn. She took a step back hoping the taur wasn't from ehr past pack where her overly perfectionist fathe kicked her out. But she shook her head. In her mind she couldn't recall ever seening such a beautiful shae of green on a wolftaur. She smiled at him but didn't respond in words to the call of the wolftaur.
