Minimum wage for Washington will rise from 7.65 or what ever it is currently to 7.90 in 2007. This increase puts our state at the top cool huh. Expecte larger pay checks next year. mrgreen

actually its going from $7.63 to $7.93
Its only a $.30 cent jump but hey it still adds up in the end
and our state even at 7.63 is the highest minimum wage in the US.

Raising the minimum wage just makes it more expensive for the cost-of-living in Washington. gonk
An average person has to make $14 an hour just to be able to live in a home (usually rented) and eat regularly. Its $24-28 if you need a home and have a kid.
Its too expensive to live in this state. gonk

I actually make 10 cents above minimum *8.03* wich is STILL not enough...ugg!
Sometimes I hate Washington...I cant imagine what its like in the south where people only have to pay like 2.15 or so for a gallon of gas...LUCKY FOLK!

I'm happy about the wage news, though. I'm planning on getting a job, this summer, so I can go to college... and buy myself a pair of Jimmy Choos. x3

Yeah, it seems this is more to compensate for the inflation of the economy.

i remember when it went from 7.35 to 7.63 and i was excited... that little 28 cents made such a difference.... if only i still had a job so i could celebrate the 30 cent change.

Yeah, but the minimum wage down there is a whole lot lower too...it all balances out in the end.
