I think I somewhat practically covered everything there is for the M1 Garand. I am now thinking of which weapon to discuss next and who would be willing to write an article or lesson in this subforum.

Ok. It's a nice weapon. I'll can write about it, but I can only make 1-2 lessons at a time (I am now busy with linear algebra and patterns of development) so it may take while. For the meanwhile, you can make your own threads.

One caveat that you missed:
The official designation for the Garand in the US Arsenal is:
United States Rifle, Caliber .30 M1

Right, I can't believe I missed such basic info although I have been reading that US Manual. I wonder if there is other interesting info out there like the sounds of M1 Garand especially the "ping" sound after eight shots and whether there is really no way to remove a partially used clip (meaning only less than eight shots were used).

You could remove a partially empty clip, but only if it had 4 or less rounds in it. Basically, it involved a lot of manual dexterity and skillful movement of your fingers inside the magazine of the rifle, hitting the latch to operate the ejector arm, which would eject the partially empty clip and bullets.
Suffice to say, the technique was time consuming and required a lot of patience upon the part of the shooter, so it was never done in combat.
