"Deep" - Peter Murphy
"Subway" - Peter Murphy

Huh, I never knew he went solo. smile

Yeah, he's released more solo albums than he released albums with Bauhaus. In the last 21 years (his first solo album came out in '86), he's released 8 albums.

"Deep" is widely considered his best album. "Subway" is a single from his album "Cascade", and is my favorite individual song of his.

Maybe I'll look some of his solo works up. Is there any significant change in the sound from Bauhaus to his solo career?

Different albums of his have different styles. Although a lot of the albums still feature post-punk and goth-rock, he also experiments with some adult-alternative and pop.

Interesting to know that he is experimental with his music, but what's the "adult-alternative" genre? confused

"Adult Alternative" is a general term used to describe alternative rock primarily aimed at an adult (and by adult, I mean 25+) audience. Also, adult-alternative commonly experiments with elements of jazz and/or world-folk music (such as celtic).

So by that, do you mean something with graphic depictions of sex/violence, or do you mean something with powerful vocabulary and themes most teenagers wouldn't get?

The latter. It's meant to appeal to adults, and not to teenagers.

Interesting...
not to sound self-conceited or anything, but adult-alternative sounds pretty intriguing to me.

Heh, although we should probably stop discussing that genre; it's spam to this thread. sweatdrop

neutral I don't see why... they have a fairly mellow sound to them and there's no foul language in it that I've heard.

She doesn't like anything I listen to. She says it's a bad example for my younger siblings.
