Ringing of the ears???? Naw............

Heres the reason behind everything. Its kinda hard to box someone's ears when they had moved, so a thump on the cheeks it is. A slight thump would occur, maybe a little redness on his cinnamon brown skin, but that was all. But how would one be knocked forward during a hook? A hook was a punch that moved to the side and not a wrap around punch......so Josh would have simply moved to the left.

But the real question was, how was Josh generating such power if he was using the same are to create a block and had no movement in his hips or torso? And then how did he generate such power after having the back of his arm pulled during the process of his block? The fact was by taking the blow to the throat (since at this point its obvious you didnt read my post completely) meant he allowed himself to be pulled off balance while moving forward.

Trying to throw a jab of his own during the process of Arian's jab, he would be met with several problems... the first and foremost being that now he had no set balance in which to stand on, and thus generation of power be well..... none. His progress would also be impeded by the fact that there was an arm in his way (yeah yeah.. that arm your getting hit with would be in your path since I'm turning and throwing a punch that would be on the same side as yours, especially since a blow to your throat meant I'm going down the middle of your guard). So that meant that the blow would either go outside of Arian's arm and glance off his shoulder, or slam into the elbow on the way back... either way it would be no more than a slight thump.. perhaps more.

With Josh's attack out the way and at this point he was coughing and wheezing... perhaps holding his neck while trying to keep from blacking, Arian would move to lay down another attack (while fighting through the pain of a sore shoulder or elbow from Josh's previous attack), he would swivel his hips and torso to the left and to the right quickly (no its not big movements... fast, precise, used to generate power) as his left arm cocked back and brought down a power hook in the direction of his temple. Simple movements that didn't take a lot of time to set up, but was powerful enough to cause serious damage.

Damage Taken
Sore Cheek, Sore shoulder/elbow

Offensive Move
Left Hook to the temple

Attack Target
Right Temple.

Estimated Damage
Unconsciousness, soreness

And so they collided, it seemed. Instead of punching Arian's neck, he punched Arian's elbow; something which apparently did absolutely nothing to throw off the direction of a punch Arian's punch would be knocked off course and wind up striking the top of the left shoulder.

Anyways, since Joshua had gotten a punch in at the side of Arian's head, what with his stable, balanced stance and the fact that Arian's hook behind his own arm provided a bit of extra umph to it just for icing on the cake. So, seeing as how he was still in pretty good condition concerning his stance, he might as well run with it.

Grabbing Arian by the right ear, he pulled down. Likely, Arian would turn his head and bend slightly to accommodate for the tug. Joshua shoved off the ground with his right leg and turned his body in and decided now would be an appropriate time for a driving knee to the solar plexus.

What with how all of Arian's constant arguments about footing and stance being wrong on grounds that he was making false assumptions about said stance.

Gaia wasn't for people with short attention spans in the least. The author behind Josh failed to read quite a bit of Arian's post obviously and thus right now Josh more than likely was in dreamland. Shall we recap the intangibles so that the people could understand why? Yeah lets.

themightyjello
However, Joshua now had his elbow up, on the inside of Arian's right arm. It was a simple movement to hook it over, pull down and back just enough to clear room, and then shove off on the ball of his newly planted right foot.

Offensive Attack
Boxing his ears.

Estimated Damage
Arian would get punched in the ******** ear. That stings like a mofackey.

What there had been a step somewhere and thus Josh had no stance. eek . Yeah that's right ladies in gentlemen, in order to position himself in a such a way so he "box" Arian's ears, he had moved forward after the block and thus what would occur next? This......

a. thomas
During Josh's push off with his right foot, Arian would stick out a short stiff jab towards his opponents Adam's apple... well more like the side of it. He would shift his right leg back a few inches to open up his stance sideways, using his hooked hand to help pull Josh along into the path of the blow. Rotating his shoulders slightly with a short swivel in his hips, he would aim the jab right towards front right of Josh's throat.

Josh had left one foot for a brief second to take a step and thus Arian had moved to help him along with a slight pull. This was to disrupt the stepping motion and thus creating an opening. The opening being the jab that Josh allowed himself to take to the throat. What someone allowed a shot to be thrown to the throat and land? Oh yeah... let me show you.

themightyjello
The thing was... none of that balance crap applied to Joshua.

The reason was simple enough, perhaps so simple that it was overlooked. Any force from Arian's punch that moved Joshua would have moved him 'forwards and to the right' due to the angle at which everything was going at... the very same direction that the ear-punch was going. Considering nothing more is said on the subject, we can only assume that Arian got punched in the ear.

Estimated damage
Disorientation, ringing in the ears

Given that Arian's right arm was behind Joshua's back at the time, it can only be assumed that Arian was doing whatever he was doing with the left. Well, where was Joshua's right at this time? Between them. Specifically, between Arian's left and Joshua's chest. Matter fact pretty much nixes a possibility of a clean hit if there was any hit at all... But, hell, why not. Arian could get his neck punch. However, Joshua would get one as well.

You know, since they were so close and it was practically impossible to avoid one, especially with both arms occupied.

A. Thomas
Offensive Counter
Slight pull with stiff jab.

Attack target
Neck Region

Estimated damage
Loss of breath, sore neck, black out.

Obviously here he is tryna take to give... smart move if they were standing face to face and just throwing them. But there was movements, slight intangibles that had to be read to understand why Arian constantly brought up the balance factor into his post. But who would land a jab first, the guy who threw first right? RIGHTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT.....

Being as that Arian would launch his jab first (with a rhyme and a reason behind how the force in his blow is being generated. He had smirked greatly upon reading that Josh took the blow to the throat, because in order for Arian to get to that point, he would have to have pulled Josh first. He had allowed his balance to get interrupted and then tried to throw one back. But once again he had no set way as to explain how he is generating force or power..... so he is like every other gaian fighter, see what they need to see and work from there... not see what they have to see and come back with an intelligent response.

So no there would be no knocking of Arian's arm away (two post later because he had gotten ******** up and refused to take damage. And especially not with no jab), because Josh's jab would come after the fact that Arian's was thrown and landed. (I find it funny that your predicating the fact that your speed is greater than mines and I'm using the fact that we are equal speed.. its just your on the defensive right now and I'm attacking.)

Which meant that this was Josh's desired move, he would take a shot to the throat and his own would hit Arian's elbow on the way to returning to a guard position. Which meant everything that Arian said would follow...

Ouch.... Josh was out like a light. But just in case.. Another hook would rain down upon the direction of the temple as the blow would come with more force as the swivel of the hips and torso got wider.

That was all well and good, but...

themightyjello
Already, though, Joshua was sliding his left foot in, skimming it over the surface of the ground to bring his stance base closer under Arian.

With one foot in close to Arian.

themightyjello
Joshua picked up his right foot. Rather than stepping back, he was using the force of Arian's hook and his own arm as a 'leg' in order to drop his body back and absorb he impact. His right foot touched ground again a moment later, and several feet from where it started... in a new direction altogether.

And one foot further out to the side providing a wide stance.

themightyjello
However, Joshua now had his elbow up, on the inside of Arian's right arm. It was a simple movement to hook it over, pull down and back just enough to clear room, and then shove off on the ball of his newly planted right foot.

Offensive Attack
Boxing his ears.

And had been one fist using his body weight to push in and towards the side of Arian's head with an incoming fist (notice the past tense, as we've already moved past that).

No steps had been taken, none at all since he had rearranged his stance to absorb the force of Arian's earlier blow. However, a stance is all about the legs, because the power comes from the legs. Obviously it would then make sense that someone throwing heavy hits would drive with the leg in order to put more power behind his strikes.

As for the slight pull... that would be taking place in a timeframe after the ear boxing fiasco. Meaning, at that time, it was likely that Joshua could have braced himself against the side of Arian's head, such as the cited example of doing a similar thing here.

themightyjello
Grabbing Arian by the right ear, he pulled down. Likely, Arian would turn his head and bend slightly to accommodate for the tug. Joshua shoved off the ground with his right leg and turned his body in and decided now would be an appropriate time for a driving knee to the solar plexus.

So, if he was trying to pull Joshua in the direction of Arian's punch... which would leave them with one arm draped over each other like drinking buddies or sommat... he'd get an inch or two at best before he was just outright getting leaned on, which can do wonders to throw off a body motion.

themightyjello
What with how all of Arian's constant arguments about footing and stance being wrong on grounds that he was making false assumptions about said stance.

So, right, anyways.

Arian's hand is moving so fast it can cover twice the distance that Joshua's does in the same amount of time, right?

Right?

How about we rewrite history a little then, since apparently we can do that just by talking about how the opponent's stance is completely bogus.

[ Arian punches for the neck, and Joshua tucks his chin in. When the punch gets there, Joshua bites Arian's fist. It tasted like beef jerky. GRR. He can do that because his chin is 4x faster than Arian's hand. ]

...no, let's not do that. That's kinda ghey. Let's just go with the last one.

Joshua punches Arian's elbow on the way up. Then he pulls his ear.

Thanks for playing, bu-bye.

With a jab..... naw. He should have changed it to a hook and it would make more sense. Especially since they were both jabbing to the throat, that would mean their blows were coming parallel to each other.

Since they were getting nowhere with, Arian would simply release his opponent and slide to his left. This would avoid the gay a** pull of the ear and thus put both men in a position where they were standing in each other starting points. Yeah I know right.

He would take no stance nor would he attack.

So s**t didn't go down. Instead they took a step apart and went back to where it all began; cutting out the BS of two pages arguing about foot position.

They could live with that.

He would simply watch his opponents figure from this point on, he had done his attacking and gone nowhere because BS. So for this point on, he would vaguely defend with shooty footing and weak a** blocking... s**t if his opponent could do it, so could he.

He would give a slight wave with his right hand as if to beckon his opponent to come as he continued to hold no stance.

I mean... it could work. Apparently everything he had done up to this point had been impossible in the eyes of his opponent anyways, so why not?

Indeed it was a ridiculous move (especially since it breaks RP fight rule number 1.... never leave your feet), but very feasible if explained correctly.....

But since Josh's creator had more say within the entire guild than Arian's creator had in this thread alone, he would go with it. Josh would see fully why Arian was truly wearing the gauze around his hands as a surge of his base energy raced through his body towards his hands. The energy would crackle through his flesh and gauze as his opponent approached and thus Josh would be able to see the charred and damaged FLESH that was Arian's arms. The energy would form in two bracelet like orbs around each wrist as the energy sparked and cracked with each passing nanosecond... the entire thing taking about 2 seconds to form..

As his opponent moved into the air to bicycle kick him, Arian would drop his weight just enough for his opponents moving feet to move just over his head and shoulders (because obviously you would have to get a running start to maintain some form of hang time.....but I'm pretty sure that your going to say you didn't. Even though we were separated by some distance and you would have to close the gap to get to me) before his leg muscles would uncoil... forcing his body to shoot back up and forward again with his arms raised above his head. This move would be timed so that as his opponent passed over his head, Arian's spring would place his right shoulder into the region where the butt meet the thighs.

Sure it would be easy to say that even in mid air with both legs extended out while in a sitting position, you could not be knocked off balance.... but that would just be plain stupid. The raised hands would move to grab around Josh's hips/ lower abs as he would start to drop his body weight downwards. At this point he was moving to power bomb his opponent to ground as the energy around his wrist would continue to build with each passing second.

Offensive counter
Springing Power bomb

Estimated Damage
Cracked Skull (depending on the arena surface), bruising, concussion.

[base energy: A mixture between Kenetic and Electric.]
