Rules 1. Generally-speaking, this Journal is reserved for posting-in by Apathetic, Telos, and other TANT-related people-types. Please keep all posts IC, and OOC-posts (comments, critiques, OOC RP, ect) can be made in the main thread or PM'ed to Apathetic.
2. Please keep all posts made here PG-13 and below-- That means language, imagery, blood, and so on. (This won't be all THAT enforced, but c'mon... Common sense tells you where to draw the line.)
3. All art and creative ideas are c to their creators, so no stealing ( or 'borrowing'). That would make me angry, and believe me, you wouldn't... Aw, never mind. You get the idea.History has many cunning passages, contrived corridors

IC Updates 24.2.2007 - Man. You step out to take your invisible grown-up "kid" to a sleepover, and there's another kid waiting when you come back. It's like a cycle.

Emergence-Day: Saturday, February 24, 2007 ("Saturday's child works hard for a living...")
Card-Associations: Though not necessarily a "bad" card, the Seven of Clubs is known for being a card of Trial. People influenced by the Seven of Clubs are generally realists, people who believe in what they can see, touch, ect; they're not afraid of hard work, and have the determination to see themselves through to the end of their goal. What can seem unfair, however, is that their paths are often rockier than most, which can make them envious or bitter when they see others coast along without any effort; someone influenced by the Seven of Clubs has to work for everything they gain, because having things given to them simply doesn't feel "right." Confident and educated, many Seven of Clubs succeed, but must then beware an arrogance or smugness that may be their downfall; while gifted with drive and intelligence, often head and shoulders above the rest, Seven of Clubs are often plagued with self-disappointment, and need to learn that the world won't end if they take a day off, that it's okay to relax, that nobody's perfect and it's no big deal if they aren't, either. The Seven of Clubs represents drive, ambition, goal-setting, and risk-taking; it's the card of the standard-setter, who despite obstacles overcomes them to reach his goal, and most of all it's a card of a truth-seeker, who must forge on through the difficult times in order to find what will make him truly happy.
Astrological Associations: Since he emerged from his card on the twenty-fourth of February, it could be said that Telos is a Pisces, what is also known as the sign of The Fishes. People who enter the world under this sign are generally thought of as particularly-sensitive individuals, who are very much in tune with the currents around them, be they something as personal as knowing another's feelings or something as general as "knowing which way the wind is blowing." Many Pisces are open individuals who wear their hearts on their sleeves, but this innately gentle nature is often taking advantage of, which causes other Pisces to retract these open hands and live within themselves, projecting a cold and distant front in order to keep from getting hurt. They best appreciate solitude, mystery, and the strange or unusual, while they tend to tune out talkative people or know-it-alls; while they dislike talking about their problems to others, they're also prone to periodic feelings of being "at sea," and criticism - though they may not show it - wounds them deeply.

 Apathetic
Age: Late teens, early twenties, somewhere around there.
Gender: Male
Appearance: Of average weight and slightly-taller-than-average height, his slightly-lanky build makes appear vaguely youthful, something like a teenager getting used to his new height, though his movements are usually confident and always decisive. He tends towards the darker colors, less because of personal tastes and more because it's easier to match them, and clothes that can stand up to some wear-and-tear.
Personality: Essentially easy-going, Apathetic has a surprisingly quick temper that flashes to the surface every now and then; although it rarely, if ever, makes him violent, he's prone to rash decisions and jumping to conclusions during his moments of irritation. At most times, though, he prefers to take things easy, living life one day at a time and not giving too much thought to either the future or the past; he enjoys the company of others at times, but may very well lock himself alone in his apartment for days on end if the incessant "company" gets to be too much of a hassle.
Background: He always says that there's not much to tell, and more-or-less that seems to be true. He had a typical up-scale life in Durem, with parents that - while dutiful to their son - were busy with their own, admittedly-successful, lives. It's not known if he has any siblings, but apparently Apathetic left home early, well out of reach of his parents' personal ambitions; apparently disappointed when their son left all of his training behind, they've made few appeals to re-establish contact. Apathetic doesn't seem much interested either, drifting around Gaia before finally settling on the Isle de Gambino, where he works the night-shift at Gold Mountain, patrolling the slots. He's also trying to quit smoking, which he has thus far been successful at for a little under two months.
 Stigma, a.k.a. 'Physostigmine,' has a bit of an interesting origin-- She started out as a triplet of strange hallucinations, and even now can only be seen by a select few. Bubbly and cheerful, she's somewhat childish in that she rarely considers the consequences of... well, anything, and she enjoys watching TV and going to the aquarium.
 Valentine, a TANT himself, was the first of his kind to come into
Apathetic's care-- Purely by accident, or so it seems.
He's easy-going and light-hearted, rarely getting riled up,
but sometimes he could stand to take things a little more seriously;
he's a bit lazy, tending to charm his way out of things
like conflict and actual work.In memory only, reconsidered passion--

 Living-Space
Though it started out its life as a studio, the apartment has been modified by the previous tenant; from what Apathetic knows, that tenant moved out suddenly, but hey-- At least he left the modifications. It now has a bathroom and a tiny kitchen-area, which is just big enough to hold a sink, a stovetop, a small refrigerator, and a few cabinets, which themselves hold cookingware and so on. Whether or not there's actually any food in the place depends on whether or not Apathetic's gotten around to buying any, and on how many people have come over to leech off his supplies.
The rest of the apartment is pretty small, but given some semblance of space by a plaster wall that cuts the room in two, leaving the first half as a livingroom-type area and the second as a bedroom. A sliding paper-screen door closes off the bedroom, but the walls are pretty thin; at least Apathetic doesn't have any roommates.
The place is furnished in what's essentially bachelor-on-a-budget decor; he sleeps on a futon and eats standing up, unless he manages to clear some of his newspapers, magazines, and ecetera. He does have a few nice prints and some collector's-edition books, as well as assorted items that, on a closer look, are either rare, expensive, or high-quality, if not more than one. They're hidden in plain sight, though, and its assumed that they came from his life before the arrival on the island.Neither fear nor courage saves us. Unnatural vices

Past Forms
As with his predecessor, Telos first arrived in the form of a card.
Unlike his predecessor, Telos arrived in the mail, and I knew what he was.
He took a while to emerge, though; I almost started thinking I'd been wrong.
Are forced upon us by our impudent crimes.
