I think Owen is fantastic, he's so funny even if he is a bit of a wanker. I just love him. xD Gwen needs to stick with Rhys, Owen needs to noticed that Toshiko likes him! And well Jack & Ianto + The Stopwatch wink .

owens a gr8 guy. i dont like him but hes a gr8 guy. hes just got a tough shell. he wants to be soft but he thinks others will laugh. he cried about the the girl in episode 3, and he did what he THOUGHT was right. he just shy inside. 3nodding wink

He is very annoying, arrogant, mean and just the "b*****d" one.
But, he is a great character, and he does have a heart. He's damn good at what he does, and I think his chatracter has a lot more to offer. pLus, he has a great sense of humour and loads of great one-liners! He is funny, but is a bit of a wanker- I completely agree!
Doesn't stop him being a p***k though.

I think that most people would agree that he should have been eaten by that weevil... I honestly don't see what about him intrigues so many people in the show. Maybe they like monkeys -- his features are very primate-like. lol. Either that or they like to be used and tossed aside... Who knows. confused
But, I think that he's supposed to be disliked. He's a decent example once more of how disconnected from society and other people the members of Torchwood are.
-Toshiko - Main focus = computers, math, and work. She had one relationship and we all know how that ended after like... two days. Otherwise, she pretty much just focuses on her occupation and watches Owen, wishing he would realize and reciprocate her affections.
-Owen - Umm... yeah...
-Ianto - Main focus seems to be once again -- work. He's pretty isolated from society as far as we know and was even separate from others at the hub.
-Jack - Main focus = Work and finding the Doctor. But, he hasn't had many real relationships or friendships really since he started on Torchwood. But, he is getting better. Though his main concern remains his team. He has realized how disconnected from society and normal life they are and has put his faith in Gwen to keep a connection to the outside world and to live because he feels that he can't really join into society. It is partly for him. lol.

I quite like Owen, I need one character to be that cocky arsehole person who I love to hate... as opposed to Gwen who I just detest completely.
And about the Gwen/Owen thing. No one should hate Owen for getting with Diane. Gwen was cheating on her partner with Owen, not because she loved him, but because he was a good lay. There were no feelings between them, just a lot of passion and lust. They hardly had a real relationship.
Tosh needs to beat some sense into Owen and then get with him. That would be awesome <3

i think that when he's mean to Tosh that he should be eaten by the weevil but he's just one of those characters that i have come to love by hating them sometimes
