Customs....::
There are several custom selections that will be available at any given time. If you have something in mind, but don't see it here- you'll have to negotiate separately with Pove. Also, please remember that custom means one of a kind- you're paying for the priveledge to have a very unique SM. Which also means, we will not reproduce an existing SM. In other words, if there's an auction for a special SM, you can't just decide you like the look of it and buy to have it reproduced- no can do.
Selection #1:
Custom Coloring.
30k- this selection includes existing-lineart coloration to your specification.
Selection #2:
Line Art Edits & Custom Coloring
40k- this selection will accommodate for lineart edits to your specifications- such as the addition of ... say, wings- or a metallic limb (*whistles* XD) or etc.
Selection #3:
Lineart Edits, Custom Coloring- Plus Bonuses
55k- this selection will include lineart edits and custom coloring to your specifications, plus the addition of whatever items on whichever stage you prefer. Also, this SM is guaranteed 5th/final stage status (should you so prefer).

80k- Entire pose throughout every stage will be drawn to your specification, as well as custom coloring, item addition, and guaranteed final/fifther status, should you prefer.

The island in the Madag Ocean was thought to be the ancestral home of the Skull Monkeys, until the recent discovery of a black pebble in a cave attached to a series of underwater grottos... that turned out to be a Skull Monkey. The caves were much older than the island, and were a part of a series of caves that were the remainder of an age-old continent that hadn't survived the Great Primordial Floods. The community- Skull Monkey and human alike- awaited the birth of the pebble with great joy, to welcome it to its new family. As soon as the pebble hatched, however, it was found that it had been born... with a skull attached. The origin of what are today's Skull Monkeys had been discovered, and not without a certain measure of awe. These wonderful creatures have entered our lives from a long legacy of history, and now their past has come forth to teach us all a little more about them.
Skull Monkey Origins are born as pebbles with tails, and hatch to become infants, protected by a double skull. Modern-day Skull Monkeys have such a desire to find a skull because it is built into their psyche that the extra protection is needed, and because a part of them remembers the feeling of having that attached skull, growing from the base of the neck up around their soft features to form a sort of mask. The Origins are intelligent and rich in personality, and have long lives and varied relationships with all manners of species. They're family creatures, and crave some form of companionship and understanding, whether it be from Skull Monkey, human, or friend. RP Info +We're not sticklers around here. You can post either in formal: "Pove walked to the front door, eating a cupcake as she went", or informal: *Eats a cupcake and goes up to the door*. Although it would probably be better to lapse into formal rp for the more in-depth storylines. You can Rp either here, or in the guild, and non-SM owners are more than welcome to join in, as long as they can stay in character and don't create an SM out of thin air.
RP is not mandatory here, however, there are many things that your SMO will miss out on if you don't ever RP them- to include the final stage, special items, and soooo many narfty plots. ^_^
The only rules we have- is that you're not to suddenly give your Skull Monkey surreal abilities or powers without having asked, first. -_- No god-modding, and no manipulating someone else's character without permission. Pretty straightforward stuff. If you've got any questions, just let us know!

Stages.... (As for growth times... The more you show up the faster your monkeys will grow. And if you Rp a bunch then your monkeys will grow, but patience is a virtue. ^_^) Quote:  ~Pebble ~This is the pebble stage of your SMO. Not much can be known about it yet, except its basic (and initial!) colouring and general activeness. Pebbles have been known to chirp, or hum- but other than that, have no speaking abilities. Gender can not yet be determined, so make sure you're stingy with those personal pronouns!  ~ Infant ~ Painfully shy and not very well spoken yet... this is the stage in a Skull Monkey's life where they cling to their owners and siblings. This is your chance to teach them and instill proper values before they hit the child stage an can no longer sit still anymore. A lot of this stage is spent sleeping... they are babies y'know. Also they already have their skulls, but at this point the skulls are VERY fragile. So be careful... SM skulls are not replacable. ~ Child ~ Hyper-active and generally hard to stop, this is the stage where your SM becomes a child. Their vocabulary is much more developed, they learn how to read and write, and they can start forming true friendships with other SMs. Their balance is always a little off in this stage, since their skulls are growing at an astonishing rate, and quickly become too heavy for the little guys. So take care to protect their little heads. ^_^  ~ Teen ~ You read correctly. Angsty? Shy? Quiet? Onoxious? Rebellious? This is the teen stage... anything is possible. Personalities start to solidify and this is the point where romantic relationships start to form and become apparent. (And when breeding is technically possible... although I ssssttroooongglly suggest you read the breeding section before even thinking about this...)~ Adult ~ Awww.. your baby is all grown up! gonk At this point in their life, your SM may be doing a number of things- starting a family, moving out of the house, going to college, or maybe just lounging around the house without a future. o_o Let's hope you raised them right!~ Final ~ The 'Final' stage in a Skull Monkey's life is by no means certain. Only those SM's that have earned a final stage item, or earned it by graduating college (or by any other special way that we come up with to obtain one of these items...) will be able to reach the final, anthro-stage. You may toil away for an item for your SM, but remember- it's entirely their decision whether or not to use it. Only adult SM's may undergo the change, and each SM will be entirely individual. This is stage is also affectionately known as 'fifther' by any owners who remember the original SM thread- derived from there being only four normal SM stages, five, including the anthro.

She was the original owner of the house that became the new SM Hq, but by the looks of it when we arrived, she hadn't set foot in it in years, and seems to have no interest in it. She also doubles as a schoolteacher for the elementary-level SM's. She's sweet, but entirely spacey, and sometimes it seems like anything you tell her goes right through her...((Mule account. ^_^))QUIETSNOOZE  Quietsnooze is the beloved creator of the original Skull Monkeys. This beanie-lovin' gal has headed off for greener pastures- you can find her in the extremely delectable Forgotten Documents Breedable, so you should stop by and give her a great big ol hug (and a beanie!) for being so kind as to let us set up shop with her original concept, and to take care of these wonderful creatures.EMELYN  I'm the one typing all this right now- most of the things you see typed out on the thread or in the guild is probably moi, running around like a fool. I peddle mostly in ideas & daily workings o' the thread, and have an insatiable desire to see those ideas put into action- like the SM school or an adoption center. (And some less desirable ones, like an SM plague!! ..Don't worry. Kep keeps me in check.) I have three SM's- Tawn, who is in charge of the nursery, Tam, and Milla. *purr*KEPPIT  Aaaah! Ruuun, it's a zombie! ...No, I'm only kidding. She's really a nice zombie, and is a little sensitive about her dead-status, so I suggest you only bring it up when completely necessary. XD She's our resident artist and colorist, and so when worshiping is to be taking place, you might as well direct it towards her. All of the new lineart is copyright Keppit, and all our banners and etc. were produced by her, as well. She lives out in the woods with an immense spread of pets and kids- including her one SM, Jen.

Items and apparel.... There are many different types of items that you can purchase for your SM- from items that only appear for one stage, to those that carry over. (The latter being slightly more expensive, since they last for more than one stage!) There will also be custom item slots opening up at any given period of time, and specialty items that cannot be bought... only earned. heart All items will appear on your SM during the appropriate stage, and in their item box in their cert.

+Collar: Any color (black shown)/Carry Over: When Adult stage is reached, the front charm/decor can be chosen from a wide selection. (Spikes, cross, feather, charm, etc...)/ 1300
+Earrings: Gold & Silver/Teen Only/200g for 1st earring- 50 for each additional ring.

What? Breeding? ? ?.... What's life without a little love? *cough* Procreation is something that no one can live without (hyuk hyuk), and your Skull Monkey is no different. Breeding is by no means mandatory (we are not SM pimps.... o_o) , but if your SM wants to start a family, there are definitely ways to accommodate that decision. However, let me make it perfectly clear that this isn't to be a frivolous venture- and we reserve the right to deny breeding to anyone.
You don't know me Rules:: 1. Both SM's MUST be at least teens.Pretty straightforward- SM's are physically able to mate when they're teens... however- you better be darn certain you're willing to accept what we call the Em-consequences if you decide to take this action. ^_^ *sweet whistle*...) 2. The SM's must at least like each other.No forcible situations, in other words. They needn't be entirely committed, or married... accidents happen, after all- just involved in some way. 2. Pairs can be any combination (m/f, m/m, f/f).No discrimination here. ^_~ 3. SM's MUST breed with other SM's... no humans/other pets in the equation please.This doesn't mean your SM can't be in a relationship with another one of your pets, (or even a human as long as they're final/fifther!), but breeding must be SM/SM. On another note, a fifther/final SM can't mate w/ an adult or teen. 3A. Two fifthers may breed together and in that case the children will start as anthros and grow up that way ^__^ Take Tawn and Sarabi's boys as an example. 4. In the case of two adult/teen Smos breeding, Both parents will pay a fee of 6,000g. (12,000g total) This covers certing and colouring and such.And if you think that's excessive- just think, it's only 1k more than a traditional flatsale price SM. The only exception to this rule is if your SM is breeding w/ a shopowner's SM- Em or Kep. Since we don't pay, it wouldn't be entirely fair for you to. (STRONG note: This does not mean you should jump into relationships with our SM's just for a free bebbeh... ^_^ our kids are picky as all get-out, and will see right through frivolous attempts at relationships. That, and some are already involved.) 5A. In the case of two Anthro Skull Monkey's breeding, Both parents will pay a fee of 15k. (30k total) This covers each individual stage for both children from infant to adult.And for ten pictures (5 of each kid) Keppit doesn't really seem to think that this is all that expensive. @.o 5. There will be two pebbles recieved.They will either be in the form of twins, which will be born at the same time, or as delayed births- it's not too uncommon in SM's to give birth to a pebble and then, a few weeks later, have another. 6. What you do with the pebbles is up to you.As in, if you decide to keep them, it is entirely up to you & the other owner whether to Rp them as if YOU are raising them, or their SM-parents. Who rp's which pebble (or at all)- also completely up to you. If you sell your new SM's we take back 10% (thanks) If given away then we suck it up and deal ^_^

School!As an intelligent, creative species, the Skull Monkeys are drawn to the idea of learning and growing with their peers- and now, they have an outlet for that: SM School! That's right. Now you can send off your little one to a classroom, where it will be able to frolic and paw-paint and learn its ABC's when it's a toddler, check book reports for spelling errors when they're in elementary school, and try and slip a note to their crush during language classes as a teenager. School is not a requirement, but it makes for some great times for your SM, and when it participates in different school-activities, it will get to hang out with other SM's and make new friends. As an added bonus for you... SM's who graduate from college will be able to choose to become fifth stage! There will be more ways to beome fifth stage available as time goes on, but for those SM's who desire to learn and grow... perhaps the school option is right for them.

One year letter..... At the one year aniversary party letters were mysteriously given out by Pove..... now, they've opened, to reveal the gifts inside... The instruments are an unequippable item in the regular stages, but are a grand starting point for a SM to discover music. These, since they were given out as gifts at the celebration, are entirely free to their new owners, but instruments of many sorts will soon be available in the item shop. If your SM practices with their instruments, they'll find that better, bigger ones will be given to them- and they can get free pictures of their SM's practicing their art... and perhaps even a special addition to their final, anthro stage...  Blu- Recorder. This instrument is a little beat up- chipping blue paint, but it still works, and might be a good launching point for a new skill...
Slush- Drums. The drumsticks seem to have been chewed on by mice, but the sound quality is still good.
Bob- Guitar. Miraculously enough, the strings are all still attached... although it needs some serious retuning.
Kailee- Trumpet. A soulful instrument, for someone who's got a lost of blues to sort through- the brass has held up over the years, although the bell's a little dinged up.
The theater items are also unequippable items that allow your SM to become a part of the theater scene, which will enable them to participate in theater RP's, get free pictures of themselves in the productions/RP's. Those involved in theater will also get the opportunity for equippable items (such as costume pieces) that will not be available to other SMs, and will not be available in the item shop. More theater items will come, and be available in the item shop.
Banda- Script Book. Peter Pan- a most marvelous production!! This book is a little dog-eared and worn, and the pencil inside seems to have been thoroughly chewed, but there are some fascinating notes in the margins...
Diro- Mask. Dusty but easily fix-uppable, this mask is for those who wish to take on another persona in the theater. Or is it just in the theater?..
Murray- Toy Sword. Wrapped in tape and slightly chipped, this wooden toy was doubtlessly a beloved prop in a production.
Smeet- Grease Paint. There's a fingerprint in the blue- and someone has already heavily used the white- perhaps they were turning themselves into a clown!
