If you hang around the Indies long enough, you get to meet a variety of wrestlers on their way up or down. I've wrestled Tonga Kid and Heidenreich, met (as in spent a prolonged period talking to) Road Warrior Animal, and Eugene, and some others who are lesser stars.
The only current star that I ever got to know at all was John Morrison, who was trained at the professional wrestling academy I attended prior to his joining Tough Enough.
It's not like I'm great friends with any of them, though, and I doubt they'd remember me; I was just another random professional wrestler (and there are a TON of them...)

I've met more wrestlers than I can remember. Some were cool, some really friendly, others were jerks. Here's who I've remembered meeting.

Big Boss Man- Cool
Chris Jericho- Cool
Raven- Jerk
Buff Bagwell- Okay
Chris Benoit- Cool (He was really friendly, I never thought he would ever have done what he did)
Bill Goldberg- Cool
Ric Flair- Polite but drunk/stoned at the time, I couldn't tell or really remember, but he seemed pretty messed up atm.
Chris Kanyon- really friendly, we hung out for a while in Vegas
Ernest the Cat Miller- really really friendly, I had to actually make an excuse to leave otherwise he would have talked my ears off all night long. But he was still pretty awesome.
Dean Malinko- Jerk
Gene Oakerland- okay
Bobby the Brain Heenan- Cool
Virgil- Threw me into a turn buckle and put me in a choke hold, only time I've interacted in a ring with a wrestler, but cool besides that.
Tatanka- Cool, we talked for quite a while, mostly about Native American lore and pow-wows, not Wrestling
Stevie Ray (Harlem Heat)- Most intimidating wrestler I've ever met, but really cool.
Scott Hall- Kind of a Jerk

There have been other wrestlers I have met over the years, Wish I could remember them all, but those are the ones I could remember.

Met Randy Orton. When his little brother was in high school, he'd go to all his wrestling meets. So the only time we'd ever see him was when our school was up against Nate's.

I met Vader and "Handsome" Harley Race, when Harley's World League Wrestling (developmental promotion) came to my town. Harley was a classic nice guy. A little gruff, and business oriented, but certainly not an a*****e. Vader seemed a bit more distant, he made it clear that he was there to make money by selling autographs at $5 each. Not something you can really fault him for, it just seemed a bit concerning, to me, how distant he seemed.

But at the end of the day, I was able to shake Harley's hand, and got a picture with both of them. Overall, they were both pretty cool.

I've only met Stone Cold Steve Austin here in Texas, some place in Belton, TX.

I don't remember much but he was funny, and seemed nice. But I can't remember exactly where I met him, because I never lived in Belton. But I never thought I'd see him around there!
