OK!!! So, I got the message from my friends, and my church, and I am.. *buh buh bumm!!!* QUITING SMOKING!!! YAY FOR ME right? WRONG!!!!

Ok so one the cravings are making me go crazy and I feel like I am going to shove someone through a wall!!! And Tim is my first target because he is the one who wants me to quit (he is my youth leader) and Kamron because he is the one who whines that I smoke(kam is my brother). I am feeling shaky, anxious, irritated, my leg is bouncing, i am grinding my jaw (and its beginning to hurt) and I am starting to feel sick. Blast that damn nictoine!!.

I know I am only 17 and i shouldn't even be smoking, but its hard to quit after 4 years!!!. AHH and I just want to go outside ad light up abut i odnt have any cause I swore to Tim and Kam I would try. and not the normal try, the "TRY HARD OR BE PWNED!" kinda try. I am starting to feel itchy and i am moving quick, short, fast movements.

Grr i think i am gunna be sick...

um....well i dont know if you're looking for advice or not but if you're able to fully quit without the horrible cravings you'll definately feel alot better.

believe it or not if you're single you might find that alot more girls will go after you just BECAUSE you dont smoke. why?

well if i use myself as an example, i HATE smoke....i can't stand the smell and it gets stuck in clothing, walls....yes walls, mattresses, almost anything you can think of. and if its damaging to buildings, think of what its doing inside of YOU. and yeah im pretty sure you've heard just about everything bad there is about smoking so i dont badger you. but back to what i was saying, i REFUSE to date a smoker. nothing against the person, just their habit. once you get to the stage of finally offcially quit without the cravings....kiss a smoker and you'll see how NASTY it really can be. not only the smell of the breathe but the TASTE....ick.

and you can probably think of all the OTHER advantages of quiting you'll gain once you can get past the first couple of stages.

but from a spiritual point of view, and i NEVER thought of smoking in this way until i saw the movie Constantine.....smoking is a form of suicide. i never REALIZED that before. why is it a form of suicide? because you're slowly killing off your body and....oh yeah forgot about that one...

aging. im pretty sure you already know that long time smokers look ALOT older than what they really are because i guess some chemical in the cigarette causes the skin to age faster....its nasty.

but all in all i have NO idea if this will help you, ive never smoke so i couldnt imagine what your going through, but try to keep in mind, when you get those cravings, to think of ALLLL the things you'll gain back from NOT smoking.

mainly focusing on the positive instead of the negatives. or something cliche like that.

anyway, before i verbalize you to death, i trully hope and pray you can get through quiting. you'll be so much happier and healthier if you do. and you're friends will probably stop pestering you wink think of the peace man lol im proud that you're doing this too. not many people can manage quiting so i hope you can keep it up.

It's hard, but think about how much better life will be if you don't smoke!!! If you need help, ask God to help you. If he doesn't answer, than this is something that he wants you to overcome on your own. You can be conforted by the fact that God is confident in your ability to resist the urge.

This is kinda off subject, but I think it sucks how much people offer smoking. I've been offered weed or pot or something 3 times in grade school (3rd to 5th), and maybe 12 times in middle school, and im only in 7th grade!!!

Seriously.

I'm a smoker, and...well, at this point in my life, I'm not really motivated enough to try to quit in earnest, but I travel quite a lot, and being on a 12-hour non-smoking flight sucks, so I've started getting the gum when I know I'll have to be on a plane and/or in an airport for a long time, and it actually kinda works. It's not as good as a cigarette, but it does give you a decent nicotine fix and make you feel much less homicidal.

It's always hard to kick the habit. If it was easy to quit a lot of people would have stopped. But don't give up!!!! When you feel bad, like right now, pray to God!! He'll give you comfort and help you see it true. If you trust him, he'll reward you for your trust and for doing the right thing. biggrin

Don't give up, You can do it!!! Habits are a real pain in the butt, but have faith and don't give in. When I was kickin my bad habits, I put full faith in god (and occasionaly, punched my pillow).

If your legs are twitchy and you feel like punching something, play Dance Dance Revolution. I am completely serious. I have bi-polar disorder, and although I know this is completely different that smoking, the premise is the same. With ddr, your legs will be moving around fastly and so you won't notice the twitching so much. My legs do the same thanks to RLS, so it helps alot. Sence you will be moving around a lot, not only will you loose a little weight and help your lungs to get a little more fit, but you will also release Saratonin, which will make you feel better. Just a thought.
