Kaiyou

Kaiyou was slightly disappointed to hear that that b*****d had so much force on his side and that not even the arch priestess could do anything to stop him. He agreed that to some extent one could admire his determination, but once you thought rationally it seemed like utter insanity. Kaiyou was not eaxempt from being blamed for the destruction of a town or two, but the ones he destroyed where full of anathema, and were bases for them and human helpers.
"Sadly, I must agree with you, this town's fate is in the hands of the gods..." Kaiyou paused for a moment and stood up, closing his eyes for a second. When he reopened them they were a brillient almost glowing blue color, even deeper blue then before. "But the gods have chosen me to deliver their judgement and wishes, so not all hope is lost." The cork came off of the jug on Kaiyou's back and he summoned forth a bit of water that he controled infront of him. "Farewell priestess Gladus, May the gods hear your prayers and help us all." And with that He turned to leave. As he did the tails f his high priest robes flew up a bit and on the back of the robes was the symbol of the goddess Hydora. Kaiyou swiftly walked out of the the room and down the hall. He would go out into the city, and find these sinners himself, to save this town from the madness of the b*****d son Reno.

Azimeana stepped out from the shadow, revealing herself. She was wearing the Inquisition cape but her clothes were still the white clothes of the Templars with the sign of her House, the House of Snow. She had never had compassion for anyone, may they be allies or enemies. But she had noticed that she was taking a fancy into whoever opposed Reno. These two Templars were no exception. However the woman knew that she could not directly oppose the royal b*****d in front of stranger, even in front of nobody to be honest.

Her silver eyes met the blue eyes of both brother and sister. She could see their surprise into seeing her there. Their face even seemed familiar, she had probably fought with them before. Although she stayed perfectly still, behind Reno's shoulder, her head made an imperceptible lateral movement. She wanted them to back up. Once she was sure that they understood what she meant she turned to Reno with a soft bow. "My Lord, isn't there an urgent matter which requires you?" her voice was calm and very polite. She had chosen her words as carefully and quickly as she could. She had used 'You' and not 'Us'.

She waited, hopeful that the Inquisitor would dismiss the case and that none of the Templars would do anything stupid.

"Hey" Abel muttered informally after getting over the intial shock of the two. As Danaiss turned to make his way back into the room, Abel slid past Kaori and to Danaiss' side. Dropping his shoulder, Abel brought his arm under the other man's, gripping his opposite shoulder, acting as a crutch to help him back to the bed.

"Dont be so formal." Abel made a face. But memories of when he had met Kaori flooded his mind. She had reprimanded him of the same thing. He shook his head to get himself back on tasks. These two were in bad shape. But the true miracle was that they were alive, seeing by their conditions of what they had to have been through.

When Danaiss said something about Selyna, he wondered at first if he was hallucinating, not seeing said woman in the room. But as his gaze swept the room he found the house cat. Not just any house cat, that familiar orange house cat that came so comforting to their other had been missing companion. She looked in okay shape in that form, but it was hard to tell.

The girls drew closer to Alvena, with the older one, Alvena guessed her to be around seventeen or eighteen, keeping her hand on her younger sisters shoulder. The woman tried not to let the surprise show on her face when the captain smiled at them, merely smiling sadly in response and nodding.

"Come, girls," she said in her affected tone, "it seems best we wait outside." With that, the woman glanced up at Brakus and nodded before ushering her 'nieces' out the door to wait for the soldiers to be done searching her house. She cringed inwardly to have those men go through her home searching for innocent people that had caused neither them nor herself any harm, but she knew that it would be worse for everyone if she raised any suspicion.

Alvena went over lists in her head, mentally double checking that she had not left any thing out of place. The crawl space that the group had hid in was now full of blankets and jars, they would look like emergency rations to anyone looking under the floor if the space was discovered. Indeed, that was just what they were, after all, one could not be to prepared in times like these.

Kaori's breath hitched in her throat when Danaiss opened the door and she had to bite her lip to keep it from being to loud. He looked awful, and she had to hold herself back from throwing her arms around him. But... she could not help but feel it was her fault some how. A million things raced through her mind, how had he ended up that way? Who had done this to him? Was Selyna in as bad of shape? If only she had run after Selyna, if only she had said something to them, if only... would they be in the same boat now?

Kaori was greatful when Abel slipped in front of her, helping Danaiss to the bed. It served to snap her out of her thoughts and remind her where they were. 'Not out of the woods yet...' she told herself as she slipped through the door, looking around when Danaiss said something about Selyna. Then she saw the orange cat, and a wave of familiar energy washed over her. Dropping down to her knees beside the bed, Kaori was overwhelmed by a sense of relief that they were both there.

Again, the witch had to bite her lip, but this time it was to hold back the tears of that same relief. Kaori had indeed began to see this small group as her family, and though she was not sure what the others would say to that, the feeling was there all the same. If she lost them, she would not know what to do with herself. After all, her own family was gone, many years ago. But no, the woman shook her head slightly, she would not think about that, not now.

((well, that was longer than planned >.< ))

Danaiss was grateful to Abel for helping him. The pain on his side was still vivid and his healing abilities were at the lowest, without thinking that he had used all he could on Selyna. Once on the bed, he looked towards the ground were Kaori was kneeing next to Selyna. He noticed the tears. With his husky voice, he spoke. "You have nothing to blame yourself for, Kaori." he closed his eyes and tried to swallow despite the pain.

He was waiting for Selyna to turn back to human. He was waiting for her to ask Abel and Kaori to kill him. He was waiting for her to accuse him, and she would be right. If only he had been stronger, if only... a tear rolled around his cheek. He kept his eyes closed. Selyna...I am so...so...sorry... he thought with all his mind and heart, but he knew that forgiveness would never come.

Of course.” Reno said, smirking darkly as he turned. He didn’t even grace the twins with a departing comment. He just left. His foot falls struck harder as he marched.

“Pathetic idiots.” Reno muttered under his breath as he went. The marble floors turned to the sounds of mud squashing under his boots as he entered the gardens. The flowers hung wet and dripping with color. The entire place smelt of nectar and nature. Reno ignored the smell. He pulled open the door to the inquisitor tower and began to ascend the steps two at a time. He was muttering to himself when he saw the blood splattered on the steps.

Reno pursed his lips. He knelt over the pool of blood, studying it for a minute. His eyes didn’t betray anything that was going on behind them. Slowly, he removed the glove on his left hand and dipped his long index finger into the fluid.

“Bovine,” he said, sniffing the blood on his finger tip. “May I suggest you get that sword ready?” Reno stood stiff, his head cocked to one side as he listened. “Now.” He pulled one of his daggers free and began rushing up the stairs. The spiral stairs wound up and up and when Reno reached the fifth level, he froze before the open door.

“Danm it Jasper!” Reno shouted. His arm drew back and he sent it spiraling into the limp corpse of the old man. The body shuddered slightly and Reno crossed the blood and dust covered room to kick the still figure.

Azimeana was somewhat relieved that Reno seemed to forget about the Templars. But her feelings became quickly darker. Before even they stepped on blood, she could smell it. She slowed down for a second but Reno's order ... and insult... quickly brought her back to his shoulder. Her hand was on her sword and the woman was trying not to focus on the omnipresent metallic smell. She flied behind the red hair Inquisitor. The stairs seemed endless and the smell stronger and stronger. The stairs were dark on the crimson liquid, now almost brown. When they reached the door, her eyes widened.

To the blood added this strange smell, she felt weak and in the same time awaken. But she managed to keep her mind focused and when Reno kicked the old man, she found herself between them. "And I am the stupid one..." she hissed between her teeth, then added louder. "That won't help us." she said with an annoyed ton. She kneed to the man, repressing an impulse to both throw up and lick the blood off his skin. The old man was still breathing, weakly, barely, but still... "Hey! Old man!" she called without kindness. "What happened? Tell us." She only cared about learning information about the anathema, she did not give a damn about the man. She was keeping her calm, despite her annoyance and anger that the two non-humans escaped.

Selyna

PostPosted: Wed Nov 26, 2008 1:03 pm

Ears back, the cat regarded the visitors with a scared kind of relief rather than fear. Selyna wanted to move, to go to them, but was still in a bit of shock. Surprised they hadn't fled the city, she briefly wondered if they'd stayed because they couldn't leave or because they didn't want to leave her and Danaiss. Either way, they were here now and she wanted to fulfill her promise of getting everyone to safety. For fear they would dote over her wounds as they did Danaiss or ask how she acquired them, she remained in her housecat form and simply rubbed against Kaori as she knelt down, trying to convey in her actions how glad she was to see them and how happy she was they were okay. Conflicted on whether to say anything about Danaiss' clearly unstable mindset, she figured in his current state and with everyone there, he wouldn't be able to hurt anyone or overpower them. Purring as she crawled into Kaori's lap, she wondered about the other woman who'd come with Kaori and Abel. She seemed familiar, but with all that had happened, she didn't try hard to remember, only to recognise Abel and Kaori's obvious trust of the woman.

((I'm back everyone, sorry it took so long)

"Oh come off it Selyna" Abel grumbled, looking down at the cat on the floor. "Its a little hard to get things figured out when we cant even talk to you." He rolled his shoulders uncomfortably, feeling cramped and uncomfortable. A small room. Being in the form of a human. Almost half of the occupants of the room in less than their best shape.

He turned to gaze at Kaori, hearing her breath catch had been so loud to him and he winced. He searched her face, surely as much as what was going through his head was going through hers according to the look on her face. He watched blankly as Selyna nuzzled and crawled into her lap. Though he couldnt say he was paying much attention. He was deeply thinking. They needed to get out of the city. As soon as possible, but now was too soon. They were being looked for. The group needed to lay low for awhile, to wait for the city to relax and if possible forget about the whole thing, though Abel wasnt sure if this was possible. They needed to wait it out anyway. There wasnt a choice with Danaiss in the shape he was in and Selyna likely the same way.

Jasper's head spun and moved in a morl. Blood and bile was coating his teeth and weighing down his tongue. His stomach convulsed and a splatttering of red and brown flecked the ground in front of his lips.

"Bastards....was....strong...resistant to the powder, how?" he wheezed in pain. "The overwhelemed me and couldn't" Blood dripped from the old man's nose and off his lips.

"..AAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGG" The old man screamed as Reno's dagger flicked through the air and embedded itself in his spine. The old man's body shook and jerked spastically for a fre moments before it suddenly ceased. Sielnce filled the room and Reno bowed his head. He stood rigid there for a moment, his upper teeth biting into his lower lip.

Affronted by Abel’s response to her being in cat form and not speaking, Selyna’s ears once again went flat against her head and she moved from Kaori’s lap to her bed with the bloodied and tattered clothes. Leaping onto the bed, she nuzzled the blanket with her muzzle until she was able to get her head underneath; crawling towards the foot of the bed, the small lump stretched and grew to the size of a young woman and the orange haired woman stuck her head out from beneath the blanket. Her hair mostly dry now, Selyna clung to the blanket, pulling it tight around her to protect herself from outside forces unknown, though inadvertently giving a very detailed outline of her body and curves. I have no clothes at the moment and remaining in my were leopard form would cause a problem…. sir…… A bit miffed by Abel’s attitude Selyna began her sentence in an agitated tone, but by the time it ended, she sounded more apologetic for even attempting to speaking to him this way; she wasn’t even able to look him in the face due to her lack of clothes. She wasn’t sure if she should tell them of her injuries or lie so that was one less thing they concerned themselves with. Getting right into how to get out rather than dwelling on injuries or leaving time for people to ask too many questions, Selyna cleared her throat and said, I was thinking I could scout as a house cat and find the best way to go at night, but we’d have to wait until Danaiss felt better about leaving. Looking at everyone again, though she glanced at the men’s torsos and looked the women in the face, she felt really vulnerable right now and wasn’t comfortable with a seemingly healthy man in the room when she wasn’t at her full capacity.

Azimeana's eyes widened to Jasper's agonizing scream. She looked towards Reno to see that the knife in Jasper's spine was his. She stood up and faced the Inquisitor. "You are killing the wrong person." She wanted to jump at his throat. But she felt weak in that room. She hated that room as much as Reno. Her claymore seemed heavier than usual. She walked to the door, once outside, she took a deep breath and waited. The red hair man had probably orders or insults for her. While waiting, she looked at the trace of blood on the floor. They had left a while ago. They were now probably safe in the city.

Danaiss was half asleep and could barely hear what was said. His eyes wandered a second to Selyna's shapes beneath the bed sheets and he felt a burst of guilt coming to him. She was very attractive, too attractive to be safe around him. The man sighed and closed his eyes. Luckily he was too weak now. But he knew that with his strengths back... The man drifted in a dream, his last thought being: 'I will have to leave to protect her.'

Kaori watched Selyna's movements from her lap to the bed, pain reflected in her eyes to see someone she considered a friend to be in such bad shape. She kep on going over "if only's" in her mind. If only they had found them sooner, if only they had stopped the two from running off like they had, if only they had followed them right away. If only her healing magic were stronger, like Danaiss'... She mentally shook her head, pushing the thoughts to the back of her head, such worries would not help them now. Standing up, she moved over to Selyna after she had shifted forms. Sitting beside her, she wrapped her arms around the other womans shoulders, drawing her near. She knew that the woman was trying to hide the fact that she was injured, she could see it in her face. But her eyes gave the pain away, even in her cat form, Kaori could see it.

At the suggestion from the shifter she pulled back slightly. "Selyna... No...." she pleaded gently, shaking her head. "Please, you are in no shape to go anywhere. At least wait until you are fully healed..."
