Shop Questions:
Q: No direct linking, right?
A: Go ahead. Even in adult, I pay for photobucket so I might as well share. XD But don't direct link anything from the D-corp photobucket... That one isn't paid for. XD
Q: Are cosplays allowed? Like, say i wanted a cabbit child?
A: (I finally decided on this one) No cosplays. In any form. No shiba inu designed to look/act like Inuyasha, and no cabbit or pikachu DNA children. You may use an anime character as a reference for a type of clothing, a type of hairstyle, those kinds of things. Don't take more than 2 traits from a character.
Q: What about extinct/mythical animals?
A: Yes. They're available through special events, auctions, or bribe.
Q: Mythological?
A: yep. :3 We have dragons after all. XD Just no dragonic children. That'd be kinda defeating the purpose of things... Also no humanoid or named mythological creatures.
Q: Who made those sprites? O: And can I use them?
A: I did. (Arafel) X3 And not currently... But I've got that a lot so maybe I'll make some different sprites for people to use? XD

Q: Do I have to keep a journal?
A: Technically, yes. But it's your choice how much you keep up with it. I personally find it a wonderful tool to keep everything organized and be able to trace back old RPs and whatnot. However, the bare minimums you can do are simply posting for the dear diary entries and then letting me post growths. :3 All journals are kept here.
Do make sure to follow the rules and post your RPs in your log, though.
Q: What's with the minishops subforum?
A: The minishops are not in-character shops, but kind of a OOC thing that directly relates to Dcorp. Because it's hard to dig through the minishops sometimes. XD The dcorp kids can have some of the items ICly.
Q: So... you sell anthros?
A: Not technically. They range on a spectrum of reletivly human to full out anthro. It just depends on which genetics work safely with the human genetics. D-corp takes the animal DNA structure, runs it through a database, and finds the best DNA to match it so they can mold the two. Thus some like Sharika end up full anthro, and others like Tyven have barely anything other than skin alteration.
Q: Can I get ___ as a mythological?
A: Mythological creatures are really complicated... while nothing named can be used (Say... Anubis) if the only one mentioned though is named, but its presumed that theres more than one, you can still use the species thats based off of ((Instead of Anubis using the jackals that bring souls to the underworld... they worked for anubis x: ))
Q: Why can someone have twins with the preteen rule? (The one about how you can only have one kid until its preteen, then you can have another.)
A: This is a general cap to keep people from getting like... 20 that they can't take care of. xD If you spend enough time around to grow your kid, then hey, get another.
ALSO theres the fact that twins and half-siblings can not breed, whereas... if you have two kids and get them both up to teen, they could technically breed because they're not related by blood. o: 'Course if they're in the same household theres usually psychiatric reasons against that. xD
Q: Whats this concept of Faternal twins/ Half siblings?
A: Identical twins are obviously... twins. Identical hair, eyes, etc. Though there can be one or two minor differences. ie Revon & Keivlos. But fraternal twins have some sort of difference... different genders, different fur tones. ie Ausleir & Sascha and HALF siblings are usually born at the same time with the same human DNA, but different animal DNAs. Ie Altessa & Ai'shern.

D-corp- Company:
Q: Who runs D-Corp? Like, who funded/started the project?
A: Alan Rikery runs D-corp. The project was started by a mysterious man back in the day... Alan and his vice president were both early lab techs there and when the man vanished, they were elected to the top.
Q: What was D-Corp created for? What's the overall purpose?
A: ((Updated)) Along with simple fascination D-corp claims there are many things that could come of taming dragons. Dragons have vast knowledge, faster transportation, strength, and thousands of other useful skills. If one could harness this, then there would be wondrous outcome.
Q: What's D-corp like?
A: D-corp is a multi functional organization revolving around finding uses for dragons. The first step to this is being able to work with the dragons. Theres more information on the building structure and other whatnots on the 13th post.
Q: What other projects have been completed other than the genetically engineered children?
A: That's tops secret. But Alan's hair, skin, and eyes didn't always look like that.
Q: Can I randomly explore D-corp?
A: No. You could walk around the halls but almost every room is locked down with a high security system. Both with DNA scanning, pass cards, and entry keys. Some have even more if they contain things like the children in the tubes. D-corp discovered how to genetically modify and create test tube babies... They're not going to let any secrets out. Plus they have a few enemies.
Q:Where is D-corp located?
A: On the outskirts of Aekea. It's a very secretive organization and very few know of it.(Other than the fact theres another corporation looming off in the desert) It is in GAIA not the USA. I've seen a few alot of prompts placing it on some island outside the US... XD
Q: What's the apartments area for?
A: D-corp has provided an apartment complex, laid out much like a hotel area. (The kind that aren't attached to a lobby, just straight hallways and elevators) D-corp offers this to anyone who would have trouble paying for both a child and a home, also to those who want to be closer to their child's studies, or other workers.
Q: What's the IC price?
A: The stay is actually Free, you just pay D-corp for utilities (Water, electric, ectect). Then they can get food by paying for it at D-corp's cafeteria, they'll get a special keycard like the other workers, but with limited access just their apartment and the cafeteria.
Q: Whats the layout?
A: first floor consists of 1 bed 1 baths, mostly for teachers and workers without kids.(The D-techs live in D-corp itself.) Second and third floors have 2 bed 1 bath, and fourth floor has 3 bed 2 bath, and a few 4 bed 2 baths.
Each room also has a living room, walk in closets, and a kitchen area.
Q: Do i have to live there?
A: Not at all! Infact, you probably shouldn't live there, except for those previously mentioned IC reasons. (Though D-corp will insist on living there if the child is being put in harm at a different location)
Q: Can I have a sister company/competitive company?
A: This iiisss a touchy subject... obviously you don't want to steal my idea of animal kids riding dragons. xD So I'd suggest PMing the mule, Arafel, or IMing arafel on AIM to discuss it. However, I am open to the idea... especially since D-corp IS a COMPANY... Walmart and target, Patsmart and Petco... theres always a left to the right. xD

D-corp- Workers:
Q: What are the D-tech about?
A: Theres over 1000 Dtech working. Each are in a specialized field, almost all of them do not remember their names anymore.. Just their numbers. Theres a high chance you'll run into lots of them, most of them are geniuses in a certain area. You can see more specific ones in the D-tech journals.
Also, while they are lab technicians they are not called labtech to keep from confusion with G-corp. Instead, D-tech.
Q: What do you mean specialized?
A: They have hackers, body guards, secretaries, scientists-in all fields you can think of. (Marine biology, gene therapy, blahblahblah). Someone for everything.
Q: Where can the D-tech go?
A: They each have a keycard, and are programmed into the main computer security system, for both fingerprint scans and restrictions. For example, all techs can go into the cafeteria with their passes. However only Alan can get into his office, and no one else. The gene therapists are the only ones allowed in the gene therapy area... The dragon keeps are the only ones allowed in the stables. You get the idea.
Q: Are any of the workers half animal/whatever?
A: No, they keep all workers human. So that they don't accidentally mix some unknown gene into the children's creation on accident. If its a human gene, then nothing will change.
For lower jobs, technically not techs, they may allow non humans.
Q: Can I have a tech at D-Corp?
A: Yes, I'll be accepting "applications" for character ideas at some point soon... I don't know when cause I'm kind of distracted, but I'll update this FAQ with the thread.
Q: What do i hear about Tech journals?
A: Yep. They're here, just like in G-corp and S-corp and all sorts of things... Though none are being updated. XD woohoo! Clicku
Q: Who are the teachers?
A: More normal people hired to work for D-corp, like any other teacher. Only differences is that these teachers have the ability to turn a blind eye towards any illegal activity within D-corp.
Q: Can I have a teacher?
A: The teachers is a sort of "I'll call you" deal. :3 I generally only ask people I know and trust to keep up with it.
Q: What teacher does what?
A: That's mostly answered here and here.
Q: Why are all the workers human?
A: Because D-corp refuses to hire anything else, a different species could cause issues within the facility by DNA traces getting left anywhere. Imagine them putting in a human and a viperfish, and then some wolf-guy's DNA getting mixed in. XD Wouldn't work that well would it?
Also theres the fact that some teachers or staff just won't get along, and if theres any issue between them no one wants anyone to go werewolf on the human's a**.

D-corp- Plot:
Q: What do you mean plot?
A: D-corp is in itself a story, it's a company, constantly moving and trying to come up with more inventions than just the children. As such, it has a story of it's own. And you may get involved in those stories via the metaplots.
Q: What's a metaplot?
A: Okay I admit I'm not to sure about the term. XD I can only guess, and i picked it up form other shops. However, you can see the metaplot subforum. is where all these special plot progressions take place, and there are opportunities for you to join in, or just read along.
Q: I missed one, is there a way i can catch up? D:
A: You can see a listing of all the forums used for each metaplot. For example, heres our first from July to August. All of the Rps have been moved to the trashbin, but you can still read them.
Q: I don't have time to read all that RP! DX
A: There was a summary in the first one on what happend at what time, you can generally use that to skip over some of them and read the ones you want to know more on. :3
Q: I have a plot idea, what do I do with it?
A: PM or IM Arafel! I don't want anyone trying to bust down D-corp without me. XD I'm REALLY open to figuring out fun things you guys can do, maybe your parent didn't like getting blackmailed and wanted to pull something to get back, or something along those lines. Whatever it is, just ask. And if it's a no, then no big deal O: I like hearing them anyways.
Q: Do i always have to ask about my plot ideas?
A: Depends. I have one person RPing their kid's parent in a coma and whatnot, and while that only involved her characters and I didn't HAVE to know about it I would still want to. Especially since D-corp had a hand in rehoming the kid to another parent. But even if you don't have that, I still love to hear them and tell you if theres anything D-corp might want to do. However, no you don't always have to contact me.

Q: How do they select the parents?
A: D-corp uses a hack on lots of computer systems, constantly checking profiles of citizens on a computer simulator. If it works, they find a way to set up making that person adopt the child.
Sometimes, a person gets themselves into a situation where they can be easily blackmailed, and then D-corp takes advantage of that and ignors hte match part of the child.
They can hack just about anything; Hospitals, personal ads, criminal records...
Q: How do they contact the parent?
A: A labtech is sent out to give a personal letter and answere any initial questions such as "Why should I come" Simple answere is we know everything about you. Though this may be false, they have nearly unlimited hacking acess... And No one bothers to investigate it because they're a highly needed resource.
Q: I have an idea of how they found my character, can you look it over?
A: Sure. Go here. ^_^
Q: I have no idea how they'd find my character, can you give me some ideas?
A: Sure sure. Go here and post some information about your character, I'll work something up.
Q: it says no co-owning, but can I have two parents for my kid, both of which I RP?
A: Yes, ofcourse. ^_^
Q: It says no Co-owning, but my parent ICly lives with someone else in a relationship, can they be in the guild and RP with the kid?
A: Yes, since they live there. Just let me know your case and I'll invite them. They're just not allowed to RP the child, but they can RP with you. :3

Children- creation:
Q: How are the children acquired for the procedures?
A:They're genetically created in tubes. Some genes and other required materials are acquired from various DragonTech workers.
Q: Where do they get the DNA?
A: Human DNA is from lab technicians, they allready know each of their genetic make up so everything will go smoother. The animal DNA is donated from foundations, kept in the lab, or forced to be fetched by the new parent. XD
Q: How do they get the DNA for extinct animals?
A: Think Jurassic park. XD However in order to get out and find a bone that still contains DNA or a amber that has a little mosquito in it is like... bleh hard. XD
Q: How about mythical DNA?
A:They use their magic teachers or some other to try and "conjure" something that would have been from the animal. A hair, flake of skin, whatever they can and then throw that in. It's a very painstaking process, and one may not always get what they want. :B

Q: So they're born carrying the animal's traits?
A: Yep. It's the safest, and most effective way to balance the genetics. As for skills that come with that they start off like the animal would. They may be born with poison skills (Rattlesnake) or develop it over time through dietary needs. (Poison dart frog)
Q: is the skill on the cert the only spcial ability my child has?
A: not at all. XD Theres thousands of thigns you can come up with depending on what features they have. I just fit one or two main ones on the cert :3 For example jekel can breath underwater, thats on the cert. He can also bite the crap out of people since he has rows and rows of sharp shark teeth, or something he made up; Smacking people with his large tail. Be creative but don't godmod :3 Just feel free to contact me if you even think it may be a bit extreme and I'll work out the details with you. X3
Q: How can i logically explain that X grew faster than Y? (Other kids, your OC, your other breedables)
A: Due to their DNA they mature much faster than Normal. Bree has hardly aged at all over the time Simon matured. :3 And Yeesha is still a child, while Simon's becoming a teen soon. XD DNA differences.
Q: Won't my kid get shunned or get weird looks from normal people?
A: Not likely, Gaia's got a whole bunch of weird creatures and people poping out of every nitch. XD However theres some that just can't avoid those looks, like Simon for example, no one just brushes off a 5'8" land-shark-man. XD

Children- Lessons:
Q: When are they allowed to start their lessons, and who cares for them before that?
A: They start out at an later age than normal, due to all the genes they have to stay in the tube longer. When they come out there around 2 or so and given to a Gaian (specially selected against their knowledge) to be raised. They attend the D-Corp schools constantly. Ages 2-7 stay with Kat, learning basic knowledge, along with Orpheus who stays with them all their lives and teaches them special skills that go with their animal traits. (Swimming, climbing, etc.) At 5 they get their dragon egg, and start attending Blade's class starting with the basics. At 8 their dragon is hatched and they start attending Lilly and Raven's class, training themselves and their dragon now to great a strong bond. (It wouldn't look good if only the dragon was being trained. Least not to the dragon! XD At 13 they attend Rafferty and Hennet's classes, the more advanced learning, Biology and History.
Q: Do children and dragons attend class together?
A: As soon as they hatch they never leave company. During the egg process they have regular visits but for safety the dragons are kept in a lab.
Q: Where are the classrooms?
A: In this subforum.
Q: Which teacher do I go to for blah?

Children- Reproduction:
Q: Can different species breed?
A: Yes, and without any restrictions thanks to the Human genetics. Their reproductive anatomy is human minus maybe a few extra ovum, or a strange menstural cycle. But other than that it's human.
However the child may have issues themselves depending on the different genetics, and thus D-corp monitors them closely.
Q: Can same sex breed?
A: If we can genetically create children in test tubes then I THINK we can pull that off. XD
D-corp has to be involved though, the children can not naturally pull this off.
Q: Whoa now, I can't afford that medical bill, but my child's prone to sleeping around!
A: I urge you to be In Character, above all else, just have something happen that edjucates him or her about contraceptives. All in all though, if you can't afford to get pregnant, don't sleep around. XD
Q: How many times can my kid get pregnant?
A: There isn't really a limit, moreso a case by case basis. Like if you get pregnant 10 times in a row you'd likely die. XD
Q: Can my kid get a surgery to keep from having kids?
A: Yea, but only under the condition that they've already had one or two and are in a relationship, or under no mental issues that could interfere with logical reasoning. Pretty much the standard for those types of surguries. :3
Q: Can it be undone?
A: Depends on how soon after and what gender and all that.. Probably a case by case basis.
Q: How do they go about taking the child from teens?
A: It's a very delicate proceedure, one does not simply walk up to someone and say "hay its ours kthxbai." The process will involve alot of "therapy" sessions with Kat, mostly during doctor visits and routine checkups where she'll gradually start intorducing the idea that this is a better option for both parties ectect. She'll be given the entire pregnancy to work with the parents, and sometimes the child may have to stay with the parents for a while for breastfeeding issues, depending on species mixes. ((Mammals yes, reptiles no, ectect)) if by the end of all this they still refuse, D-corp officialls will then step in and take more blunt measures.
Q: Is there any way that they could keep it?
A: Not really, not the parents themselves. Perhaps the grandmother/father could try to get it back, ICly D-corp would be unable to find a better suitor and if the parent was insisting they'd give it to her. OOCly you'll have to enter the contest like eveyone else. XD

A: You can contact Arafel to work out what she thinks you'll receive for which DNA.
Q: is my dragon a boy or a girl?
A: You look and tell me. XD (Your choice)
Q: What's my dragon like?
A: Dragons personalities are kind of shaped around something, almost like a zodiac if you beleive in that stuff. It's not an exact science, but mroe often than not it ends up right. (For example, a zodiac thing is that Taurous are always stubbron, and every taurous I've met, including myself, had indeed been stubbron. Don't know why it seems to be right, but it is.) So to see what general things your dragon likes check out this subforum.
Q: Does my dragon HAVE to speak draconic? D:
A: Nope. Youc an put that language in ittalics if you need, or something simple like that. The dragon vocab is just for fun!
Q: Why'd my kid get this dragon?
A: I keep a log on it here. But I've been lazy abou it so.. XD;
