you left Spader out of the poll! gonk
Anyway... I began reading the Pendragon series when I was in middle school, however they're always nice for a bit of light reading from time to time. I have always been in love with books that incorporated parallel dimensions and powers beyond the control of their bearer.
Basic plot 14 year old Bobby Pendragon finds himself following his mysterious Uncle Press into a parallel dimension through a vent through space and time known as a floom. Along the way Bobby learns that it is his destiny to fight the evil Saint Dane and save all of Halla(all of the worlds/creation).
Its a worthwhile read wink xd

Pendragon's cool. My favorite character is Saint Dane, just because evil people are always fun to analyse, usually because the characterization is less direct, it leaves more to the imagination.

I've only read the first two. But I've heard from friends that the author has developed an Eoin Caulfer complex. I'm probably misspelling his name. He's the guy who wrote the Artemis Fowl series.
At first, the books were awful. But by book three they were decent. I've heard that the newest ones are even better--a prime example of a 180 author's turn.
Pendragon seems to follow that pattern, and certainly the second displays an increase of skill that I've rarely seen displayed in any author. I actually wondered if the writer had sold his soul to Satan or something.
Anyway, that's my observation for the night. Enjoy. -LD

I absolutely LOVE these books. They're just...different. They don't have the same stupid idea as every other fantasy/sci-fi books. I totally need to reread though because apparantly the new book is out and I had no idea. Silly me. I can't wait to reread as soon as I finish the sixth Harry Potter and then Eldest.
