I read : Original fantasy/sci-fi, romance, comedy/humour, drama/general, action/adventure, historical (WW2, Colonial America, Medieval Europe, mostly)
Fandoms: Beyblade, Naruto, Bleach, Harry Potter, FMA, Pokemon, PotC, X-Men (Comics, cartoon, and movie verses), Rurouni Kenshin, Star Wars, InuYasha, A:TLA, RENT, PotO, TMNT, and a variety of others. If you aren't sure if I know it, or don't understand my abbreviations (which should be rather normal if you know the fandom) then PM me and ask.
I don't mind graphic violence/sex/gore/etc, but once it gets excessive, I mind a heck of a lot.
Other : I love writing, I write poetry, scripts, original, and fan fictions. I am a grammar nazi, and I'll spend forever trying to get a sentence to sound just right. I love reading other people's work, and I like to help. I steer clear from horror/terror and chatspeak, both of which make me want to vomit. I don't mind graphic anything, but I will feel the need to correct it, so don't send me badly written stuff and expect me to skim.
I'm good with description, I've got a rather wide vocabulary (I think) and can help with character development. I love plots....I'm a plot fangirl, and I would kill for a good plot. Spell check is a must, and is installed in most word processing programs already. Its just a click away...use it please! I check my email all the time, so I'm sure to get what you send right away, and I'll try and get it back to you as soon as possible. It just tends to take me longer when you bug me about it....hmmmm, wonder why that happens?
I will beta fandoms I'm not familiar with. I will research it, I will learn it, and I will be a canon nazi. I may ask questions, and I do have my own particular beta style which doesn't suit everyone, but I'll try my best. I'm good with beta-ing as you go, but I'd like not to have to wait too long between chapters. If I have to wait a long time, I may not remember all that happened in the previous chapter, and my comments may not be consistent.

I read : original (My favorite is, I believe, the term is Fusion Fiction - many different types of genre mixed together. For example - Horror with Fantasy and/or Romance mixed in. For original Internet fiction, anything really. I'm pretty open to anything that sounds promising.) or fanfiction for (for anime I am familiar with these fandoms most - Saiyuki, Hellsing, Howl's Moving Castle, Weiss Kreuz, Loveless, Yami no Matsuei, and some others. Books - Wraeththu, Lost Souls, and Eragon.)
Other : I've been writing short stories and novel ideas since I was 18. I will try and write anything (seriously, lately I've been trying my hand at stories with slash involved.) I will try and give anything a shot. I'm here to help the gamma write better. It's not my place to cut down the writer's story or self-esteem; criticism is only helpful when one is honest, yet remaining firm on the editor's opinion. smile Hope to see some Gaians willing to try me as their beta. biggrin

I read : Fanfiction: Harry Potter, The Labyrinth, Gundam Wing/Endless Waltz, Ouran Highschool Host Club, Fullmetal Alchemist, Full Metal Panic, Fruits Basket, Death Note, Bleach, Blue Sub 6, Escaflowne (series and movie), Witch Hunter Robin, Ghibli, Sailor Moon, Avatar the Last Airbender, Battle Royale (book and movie), Ender's Game, Ender's Shadow, Lord of the Flies, Golden Compass, Subtle Knife, and the Amber Spyglass. However, I will get to know a fandom if you still want me to beta your story!
Other : I'm okay with both het and slash, but not with OOC, PWP, and a lack of punctuation. Also, I don't shy away from more touchy subjects (drug use, self harm, main character death, etc.). I'm a stickler for grammar and spelling as well as if a character has depth and is believable. I'll try to get your story back to you as fast as possible (keep in mind that I'm in college, so midterms and finals weeks will be murder), but I ask you that you pm me about whether or not I can take on your story-- most likely, my answer will be yes. I give concrit, not flames because I'm here to help you out! I will pm you a sample of my work if you feel the need to see it-- just ask and you shall receive.

Other : Hello, my name is Nasyki Ikysan, I am a 17 year old currently enrolled as a Senior in high school. I love English and literature as a whole. For the past 5 years I have been both a beta reader and writer for a myriad of different things...I think I have had around 5 people that I personally edited all of their works over the course of that time, though after a year or so they simply stopped writing so currently I am editing for no one. I tend to work on a very person level with people so that I can help them sort their ideas and make their writing the best it can be. As I myself have also gone through various beta’s with my own writing I have also come to know a little bit about what the gamma are looking for when they need a beta. When editing I do not only look for grammar and spelling errors (though I am a grammar nazi), I also correct and comment on other things such as plot, sentence structure and variety, word choice, fluency in the text, and detail. I make sure to help comment on how the gamma can better their writing as apposed to just making it simply more presentable. For the past 3 years I have been enrolled into Honors English courses, AP Language and Composition, AP Literature and Composition, Journalism, and Creative Writing courses so I have become very family with quite an assortment of English related text and material and I am confident in what I am doing.
As far as preference in editing material may go, I would rather read something that contains no pairings, yaoi, or yuri as apposed to heterosexual pairings but I will read just about anything/any genera without complaint. I don't mind hardcore sex/violence/abuse/drug/alcohol or just about anything in a story. It's just a story, it doesn't bug me.

Other : I'm resubmitting this~ I totally forgot that this existed for a while because I'm lame that way. >_> Anyhow, I'm a total grammar/spelling freak, and I'm pretty blunt when it comes to things that I think are canonically wrong. I'm not all that fond of OCs, and I will not hesitate to call a Mary Sue when I see one. I can be a little brash, but I'm never mean. I'll do whatever I can to help a gamma get out of a plot hole or over a writer's block, but I won't write your story for you. ^__^ But like I said, I'm a nice person, so I'll do what I can to make sure we have a good editor-writer relationship.
[EDIT] Annnd I totally forgot to list my preferences. XD;; But these be the preferences: I don't care. Really, honestly, I do not care. I do tend to enjoy yaoi/yuri a little more than heterosexual things, but that's just a personal quirk and I will still read het things. Violence? No problem. Bloodshed? Awesome. Sex? Sweeeet. Like I said, I honestly do not care. <3

I read : All original fiction of the horror or romance persuation, no matter what genders the romance includes, which is to say, I will read original shounen-ai (yaoi works, as well) and shoujo-ai (yuri, obviously.)

I read : original fantasy/Science Fantasy or fanfiction for anime I am familiar with and some video games.
Other : I'm new at being a beta so maybe I should be your second choice instead of your first, or if you're just looking for someone who's online. I am better at reading fanfiction for anime mostly because I'm really into it and can tell if characters are on the brink of being out of character. I try to be gentle when I say what I think needs to be fixed, and I try to work some of your sentences better. Like I said, I'm new to this. Oh, and I hate size 12 font . . .

I read : Original Science Fiction or Fantasy. No Fan-fics.
Other : Sorry to all fan-fic writers but I will not review it. It is hard for me to give constructive advice on fan-fics because I either know too little or too much.
I've got an associate's degree in English(Soon to be a Bachelor's) and have worked in a library since I was six, as a volunteer. I'm rather through on checking grammar and will tell you exactly what I think on anything I read, be it good or bad. While I've got a lot of things on my schedule right now, I can review roughly three chapters a week.

I'm virtually unsquickable.
Other : I try to not be mean, but I'm not going to let you get away with being stupid. If you're making basic English errors, doing things that just don't make sense, or going so far over-the-top it makes me cringe, I will tell you to fix it.
I like short stuff best (<20k), but I'll do longer things if you give me enough time.

Ah. I think it's time I put in my beta application. It's only been two years or so. . .
I am a : Beta
I read : Original works. While I won't be too picky about the works I beta, I do specialize in thrillers, mystery, and horror, as those are the genres I tend to enjoy the most.
Other : I expect a moderate degree of literacy, please and thank you. I most definitely won't take you seriously if you are unable to apply good grammar or use the spell check function on your computer (though, of course, a few mistakes are always forgivable). I'll pick out whatever I feel is necessary in your story, though I expect more work to come from you, the writer.
